Have the PCM scanned for codes. With Toyota, the VSC light will come on any time the check engine light is on. You can drive the vehicle. Just have it scanned when you have time.

Strange that they didn't reset the CEL/VSC lights for you. My understanding is that it should clear over time, so it sounds like you may still have an issue that's triggering the light. The most common cause that I have heard is the vacuum hose to the air filter box being left off (or knocked off). You might want to ask a local auto parts stores to read the codes and reset the DTC. Many will do this for free (at least many of the large national chains will). If they reset the code, and the problem has not been resolved, the VSC light will come back on. Hopefully it's just the vacuum hose that attaches to the air filter box.
You have to use a scanner and pull the code out that is causing the check engine light to come on. whatever code/codes you find are probably related to vsc light.

VSC is Vehicle Stability Control. This is and electronic sensing which monitors and combines performance of braking, wheel slippage and handling, ect. If this light comes on along with check engine light, it can be caused by a loose gas cap or faulty o2 sensor.
Around 98,000 on my 2000 Avalon, my check engine and VSC light went on. If you go to Auto Zone they could tell you the code that triggered the Check Engine light. When a sensor detects a malfunction, the engine computer turns on the Check Engine light which also disables the VCS In my case the problem was a dirty MAF mass air flow sensor which sits in the air tube between the air filter and trottle body. Two tiny screws and a disconnect to the wire and out comes the MAF. Sprints a shot of MAF cleaner, discconect your battery, reinstall MAF start her up and all was well.The key to the problem solution is finding out why the check engine light came on. If it did not come on, I would still check it for fault codes.
This could be two seperate problems but the trac and vsc lights can come on when the check engine light does for a number of codes. Have the check ngine light scanned to diagnose the problem. When the problem that caused the engine light to come on is resolved and the code cleared the tra and vsc lights should turn off as well. Rarely they will stay on in which case your toyota dealer may have to do a "zero point calibration".
Most major Auto Parts stores Advance/Auto Zone will get the diagnostics codes from the cars computer and tell you why the light is on and what the problem is if there is a problem.
When the check engine light comes on, the VSC light come on along with it by default. I don't exactly know why, it just does. Fix the problem with the air/fuel sensor and reconnect the battery, should take care of the problem.
A few days ago I started the Cruiser and had 4 indicators stay lit.
They were the CHECK ENGINE...SLIP INDICATOR..VSC TRAC..VSC OFF.
Didnt noticed any change in driving and 4-wheel drive is still working.
I removed the negative cable from the battery and the same indicator lights have NOT
come back. Everything is back to normal as far as warning lights go.
Should I take it in to the service center and have it checked.
Or should I wait to take it in, if it does it again?
