First make sure you have suitable oil and a new filter for your car. Remove the oil drain plug at the bottom of the oil pan and drain the oil into a suitable catch container. You will have from 4 to 6 quarts of oil to catch depending on your car. While the oil is draining remove the oil filter, you may need to use a filter wrench depending on how tight the filter is on. It will drain more oil, so put a catch pan under the filter. Next install a new filter but make sure the filter gasket was removed with the old filter. Screw on the filter hand tight. Recommendations are to tighten 3/4 of a turn after the gasket makes contact with the sealing surface. Replace the drain plug make sure the drain plug gasket is either new or suitable to keep oil from leaking out of the engine. Add the recommended amount of oil to the engine through the oil filler cap. Start the engine and check for leaks. Stop the engine and check the dip stick and add more oil if needed. Do not overfill!

Pull the drain plug, change the oil filter, replace the drain plug. Add oil until the dipstick reads full. Start the engine and make sure the oil light goes out. Under your car in the front should be the oil pan. It has a bolt on one of it's sides. Loosen this bolt and take it out. Don't forget to put something under your car to catch the old oil. Also, change the oil filter. You should see the oil filter while you are under your car. Before putting in new oil and filter, make sure you put the bolt back in the oil pan. Put a little new oil into the new filter and wipe some oil with your finger around the oil filter rubber gasket. Make sure you don't overfill with oil !

locate oil drain plug on oil pan,engine off. take out oil plug with wrench, drain oil into a big pan or similar. when oil is drained remove oil filter and put new one on, put some new oil on filter seal with finger then screw on to car as tight as you can get it by hand. do not use a fiter wrench to tighten filter only hand tight. use oil filter wrench to take off old oil filter. when filter is on put plug back in oil pan and tighten. then add your new oil to reccomended oil level.

you will need 5qts of 5w-30 oil and an oil filter. Go to an auto parts store and tell them the make model and year of your car and they will give you the right oil filter. Make sure to drain all the oil out then remove the oil filter. When putting the new oil filter in make sure to take some oil and put it on the sear of the oil filter. the 2007 avalon has a cannister oil filter loof under the passenger front of the car youl see the oil pan and drain plug its just in front of the oil pan towards the front of the car its metal casing with a small square in the center thats where youl need a 3/8 exstension and ratchet to loosin the cap to change the gasket for the cap when you get your oil filter it comes with a small plastic piece so you can drain the oil out of the oil filter case, to change the oil filter itself you need a toyota specific oil filter tool to loosin(can get at any toyota dealer run about 20 bucks) take the filter out change the gasket around the case and thats it hope this helps
