Ok, 2008 Acadia. AWD SLT2. I tried to turn the car on this morning and nothing happened. The key will not come out of the ignition, but it will move to positions 3 and 4 I think...not the back to where you can take it out. Also, there is a constant noise coming from under the hood and occassionally from the power locks I think...what is this and how do I get the key out?

SOURCE: the key won't turn in the ignition, car is locked up

Try cranking the steering wheel to the side really hard and at the same time turn the key.

SOURCE: 2005 GMC Envoy key is stuck in accessory position

Jump starting the battery may be all you need. If this vehicle was not in park when the battery went dead and when you got in to start it it was dead. You then probably put it into park trying to start it.
But the issue at this time is if it was in neutral when the battery went dead the you changing the selector to park may not actually have placed the transmission in park. With electronic gear selection it actually need power to the system to place the transmission in park.
Without it really being in park the key may move to the lock position.
A bit of quess work here but I hope for you I hit the mark.

The battery is good but it wont start

It may be the solenoid (electro-magnetic clamp) that engages the starter motor with the flywheel to start the car. Unfortunately, this usually involves replacing the entire starter.

Intermittent starts, battery good, altenator good. Car works fine for two weeks then next morning no start, then 2 days later, starts up fine. No other electrical malfunctions at all...when turning key on...

ecu is taking up more voltage as a back up reserved. Try removing the battery once it is loaded in the evening and put it back in the morning and try to start.Trial and observation will pin point the main cause.

My Acadia 2008 stopped suddenly ,, battery Ok ,, but the engine cannot turn on again I brought many technical guys but no point ,, still when I turn the key on only For your info. The oil is expired (...

{: ) A few of the many possible reasons I can think of : ignition switch, engine fuseblock, ECT sensors, engine control module, TDM, wiring ..... When you said you brought many technical guys, i presume they didint miss checking the oil, and fuel pressure, and coolant. I dont think an expired oil life reading can stall your vehicle. Actually, if the oil life remaining reads 100%, you are still very far to servicing your engine oil. The counting is from 100% going towards 0%. I suggest a scan tool readout, it wont hurt your car much. Just to trim down some of the guessing games, and get a clearer view.

Nothing works and can't remove key from ignition

If the battery is dead, the ignition keys will not come out of the ignition cylinder. Don't force the ignition key to ensure you do not damage the pass lock system in your ignition. Jump the battery or replace it to get enough voltage to remove the key's from the ignition and check the fuse box for any blown fuses. Good luck and keep me posted.

I have a 1997 Grand Am 2.4 SE that won't start

Check battery full charge, battery terminals are clean, cables aren't cracked, broken or corroded and alternator first.

Which your having replaced your starter with new already. If you're still getting nothing it sounds like a bad ignition switch.

They wear normally and need to be replaced. But as a helpful hint don't place excess keys or weighty trinkets on your ignition keys.

They wear on the seating of the key in the ignition and often promote failure in the ignition from bearing the dangling weight.

SLT2 POWER MEMORY DRIVER SEAT MOVES FROM SET POSITION AND MUST BE RESET EVERY TIME I GET IN THE DAMN TRUCK!! WHAT IS WRONG. THE EASY ACCESS/ENTRY FEATURE IS DISABLED.

Are you using the key fob to unlock the doors before you get in?  Make sure the key-fob is linked to your set position number.  I had my wife and mine switched, before I figured it out.
