SRS-seatbelt response system, is a part of your airbag system and braking system, once you hit brakes very hard SRS makes sure that the belt is getting tight, in case of collision seatbelt gets stiff and the airbag blows up. SRS light coming on and staying for few seconds is fine as computer is checking the system, once it stays on or flashes you need top go to a garage as you might get a surprise blow in the face by the airbag.

Engine light on & dashboard light says trans fluid

Whenever this warning light or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating that the systems control module (or the system sensor in the case of lights like low oil pressure, door open indicators etc.) has detected a fault, it then disables the system (this applies to ABS,TCS, TCM, SRS and BCM faults and others) as long as the light is on. You must now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and "scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the problem(s)

Legend of Abbreviations. ABS Antilock brake system.TCS Traction control system, TCM Transmission control module, SRS Supplemental restraint system, BCM Body control module

Reset SRS indicator light

Unfortunately, the only way you can clear codes on a post 1996 car is to have a scanner. You can either get the error cleared at a local shop where most of the time they will do it for free. If not, you should be able to buy a hand scanner from a local parts store like NAPA. Unfortunately, the latter solution is pricey.

What does SRS lit up on the dashboard mean. 1995 accord wagon.

the SRS stands for Supplemental Restraint System. Most people call it the air bags but the SRS system includes all of the sensors and control units for air bags, seat belt pre-tensioners and passenger detection systems on cars that are equiped with themeach time you start the car up the SRS control unit will do a self-test of the system to make sure all of the sensors are working properly. The SRS light will stay on while that test is conducted. If all is well and everything passes the on-board test the light will go out in about 7 seconds. If something is wrong the light will stay on.whenever a failure is detected for any reason,the SRS light is turned on and the system is shut off. The air bags will not be deployed when the SRS light is on.They call it a Supplemental Restraint System because your seat belts are your primary restraint system.

What does the red light on the bord with letters SRS means? It stays on for few seconds after I start the car (Honda accord 1995). Thank you

srs means secondary restraint system. e.g air bags and things like that. when it stays on for a few seconds its because it is doing a systems check. if the light stays on all the time then there is a problem. hope i helped.

SRS light stays on

The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) is definitely something you want working. Those airbags can be a lifesaver in an accident. Take it back to the Dealer and tell them it wasn't broke before they worked on you car, it's broke now after they worked on it, and stress how much of a Liability this might be. Okay, okay... just ask them to fix it because you would like to have it in case you are involved in an accident. My Civic's Service Repair Manual (from Honda), says Take it To Your Dealer (see below)
===========================================
All SRS electrical wiring harnesses are covered with yellow insulation. Related components are located in the steering column, front console, dashboard, dashboard lower panel, and in the dashboard above the glove box.
Do not use electrical equipment on these circuits.

-WARNING
To avoid rendering the SRS inoperative, which could lead to personal iniury or death in the event ol severe frontal collision, all SRS service work must be pertormed by an authorized Honda dealer

The SRS light stay on

SRS stands for supplemental restraint system. You have a problem with the airbag system. The seat belts have sensors to let air bag module know if they are buckled. Could be a bad buckle seat belt will work fine .This may be a common problem is why they said seatbelt problem
