My 2.4L Altima is running great most of the time but will start missing and running rich sometimes. It will then die and crank over but won't start until it sits for a few minutes. It runs great for another day or so before doing it again. Is it my O2 sensor or something else? I've changed the fuel filter but no help.

SOURCE: Starting problem

Try the idle air control valve it is located near the throttle body it has a four wire plug and has two small hoses attached to it this is a small stepper motor that controls the amount of air on start up this part will cost about $200 from a popular auto parts store.

SOURCE: Engine dies for no apparent reason after several hours running

Sonds like a sensor putting out an error code to shut it down ( like a fatal error code) Prolonged vibrations and heat can make cam sensors, maf, o2 senosr do craz ythings which will actuate a govener and stall your car...could also be you fuel pump causually telling you that "hey im bout to die".I dealership can run a stress test (if you will) to check the longivity of the pump...
Good luck hope this helps :)

SOURCE: 03 Altima 2.5, Wont turn over on cold start

First, change the fuel filter, and make sure the lines are good. Check the intake manifold bolts for tighness, check all vacuum lines. Best to have it running, wiggle them around and listen for a hiss. Lastly, change idle control sensor, if the other suggestions don't make a difference.

My 93 Altima will not start. I did the self diagnostic and got code 55?? It started a few weeks ago ran great for the weekend, got it to work and would not crank to go home.

Josh, Code 55 for your Altima simply means no faults were found/no malfunction. Do you mean car would not crank(engine not turning over) or did you mean engine will crank, but not start. I will post troubleshooting links to both conditions below. If not comfortable, have a good Technician look at it, diagnose and estimate repair.

Car wont start untill i press on the gas?

Check your cam and crank position sensors. Check the fuel pressure regulator and then the Fuel pump itself. This sounds stupid, but go check the gas cap too and make sure it is on tight. Sometimes it's the little things..haha. The two sensors tell where the crank and cam are in relation to each other and TDC of Piston 1. If one of the sensors is out of whack...the whole timing process will be thrown off. Most of the time if the cam sensor is bad, the car won't start, if the crank, it will start but run like ****. They don't cost much usually and your car is old enough that they should be replaced anyway. The MAF sensor would just cause the car to run rough most of the time if it were faulty or dirty. But being how generalized those codes are, it's never fun to figure out. Hope this helps you :)

My 4 runner starts sometimes and won't other times, it justs cranks over but won't run

As with any no start issue, you will need to check for spark and fuel pressure when it won't start to know how to proceed.
