Most likely goes on ignition side (small eye). If you connect it to large eye it will have power all the time. Small post (eye) only gets power when key is in start or run position. 2 big eye wires are input from battery positive & alternator feed.

Taillights dont work on 1996 chevy cavalier. Has new bulbs and fuse. has anyone found a problem with this car?

Did you check for voltage and ground, anywhere? Use a test light to check. Did you check for voltage at exterior lamp fuse? Hot all the time. The tail lamp circuit is wired through headlamp switch. At the rear, brown wire is voltage for tail lamps. Black wire is ground, check them both. I saw what you replaced, but, I don't know what testing you've done?

1996 chevy cavalier 2.2 dont start antithef light is on it does not blinking

I had this very same issue a couple months ago. There should be 2 fusible linked wires on the starter. One or both may be broken. This is by design. Also, there should be a small relay box in the front of the engine compartment near the radiator. This relay is for the Theft Lock System. It cuts off the power to the starter. It is a very simple fix & can be bought for $30 - $40 @ NAPA. The relay is where you should start first.

Wires to 1996 chevy cav starter

Most chevy cars have 3 wires. I main wire that comes from the battery. Another a little smaller wire that goes to the same post in the center of the starter solinoid. And 1 small wire that goes to the smaller threaded post on the side.

97 chevy cavalier starter works sometimes, next won't disengage

It sounds as though the solenoid on the starter is stuck. if it is a used starter a light tapping with a hammer may release it (very light). DON"T tap it if it is a new or rebuilt starter you may void your warranty. If it is a new starter it should have a warranty. If installed at a garage call them for warranty repair if you installed it yourself pull it off and take it back for replacement. Most places I deal with for starters and alternators, either new or rebuilt have least a 1 year warranty. mike

Rebuilt heads on 96 blazer 4.3 now no power

Check your neutral switch, its usually on drivers side on the back of stearing column .Its easy to reach and if you consult a mechanics service book, it will be alot easier to find and save you alot of frustration. Please rate this. Thanx.
