1999 Ford F150, Supercab XLT, 4.6L, 4WD, 4 wheel antilock brakes. I need the routing of the brake lines at the EHCU. There are 5 ports on the EHCU the primary and secondary from the master cylinder I am positive which port they connect in to, the primary connects in to the far right port, the secondary connects into the far left port. I need to know which are the other three ports, front right brake, front left brake and the line for the rear brakes. what is the sequence. The EHCU is in the ford service manual.

1999 Ford F150 Supercab XLT 4X4, 4.6L, Automatic, with 4 wheel Antilock Brakes. I need to know where the left front, right front, and the rear brake lines connect into the antilock module or EHCU. There are 5 ports on the EHCU, the far left port is the secondary line from the master cylinder and the far right port is the primary line from the master cylinder. My question is: which ports do the brake lines connect to the EHCU.

  • Anonymous Aug 17, 2010

I need the exact placement of each brake line as it connects to the EHCU. The picture above is the correct ECHU, which ports do the brake lines from the front right, front left and the rear brakes connect to in the EHCU. There are no lines in the truck so I cant follow the bends in the lines and match them to the picture above. The Ford serv ice and shop manuals do not provide this info.

  • Anonymous Aug 19, 2010

Please read the problem thread. Two days ago elshaddai159 stated that the left port was the left front brake, the center port was the rear brake, and the right port was the right front brake. Today 1kbron stated that the left port was the rear brakes and made no mention about where the front brakes connect to the EHCU. Both contradictory statements. Please there are FIVE PORTS on the EHCU, the OUTERMOST left and right ports connect to the master cylinder-GUARANTEED! The three center ports looking at them lets call them #1 on the LEFT, #2 in the CENTER, and #3 on the RIGHT. Which brake line connects to #1, and #2, and #3. There are three brake lines in the truck, front left wheel, front right wheel, and 1 line from the rear wheels.

  • Anonymous Aug 20, 2010

Your response is incomplete, disconnect the lines and WHAT?????. please read the thread and my comments, The picture is the correct EHCU now for the Question again,,,, which wheel's brake line connects to which port of that EHCU.

  • Anonymous Aug 23, 2010

The details are in the thread. Its a 1999 FORD F150 4X4, XLT supercab with four wheel antilock brakes. The rear brakes are drums. I need to know which brake line connects to which port of the EHCU.There are 3 brake lines, the front left, front right and the rear brakes.

Important: Thoroughly wash all contaminants from around the electric hydraulic control unit (EHCU). The area around the EHCU MUST be free from loose dirt to prevent contamination of disassembled ABS components.
Disconnect the three electrical harness connectors from the electronic brake control module (EBCM).
Important: Make sure that brake lines are tagged and kept in order for proper reassembly.
Disconnect the 5 brake lines from the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV). When looking at the brake pipe port face of the BPMV, the ports are assigned as follows:
Upper Left--Left Front Output.
Upper Middle -- Right Front Output.
Upper Right--Rear Output.
Lower Left--Master Cylinder Secondary/Front Input.
Lower Right--Master Cylinder Primary/Front Input.

Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

I would have to look for a training manual at work on Monday, but an earlier F150 had the 2 front lines in the middle and on the left. The rear was to the right.

I found a Kelsey Hayes port orientation chart. Almost certain it is for F 150.

As you are looking at it,

Far left port - Front input

next port going right, slightly up and right - left front output

next port in center - right front output

next port (2nd from right) - rear output

    right port - Rear input

    Far Left = Front input

2nd from left = Left Front Output

    Center = Right Front Output

    Center Right = Rear Output

    Right = Rear Input

    Is this your EHCU??

  • Anonymous Aug 18, 2010

This is the EHCU that is in my truck. What I have been trying to get the answer to is the three brake lines across the TOP CENTER of this EHCH which brake wheel does each one connect to. There is a Front Left, a Front Right and the Rear Brake line, I need to know which one connects to what port in this EHCU

  • Anonymous Aug 18, 2010

    Is this your EHCU??

THIS IS MY EHCU. The question I have been trying to get answered is: Which line is from which brake.

The only thing I am positive of is the two brake lines from the master cylinder which are: The far left port on this EHCU that is the secondary from the master cylinder and the far right port on this EHCU which is the primary from the master cylinder. Ther three ports that are in the center and up slightly from the outer most master cylinder ports connect to the trucks brakes, which one connects to the FRONT RIGHT brake, the FRONT LEFT brake and the REAR brakes.

  • Anonymous Aug 18, 2010

It's been a while since I had one of this! I looked everywhere for the darn diagram and coudn't find one in which you could clearly distiguished where each line went. Finally I whent under my friends P/U, of the 3 center lines, the one on the driver's side is the one to the rear brakes!!!

Good Day!!! Don't forget to rate this post!!!!!

  • Anonymous Aug 18, 2010

The other two lines each one goes to it's side, middle one goes to RH (driver side wheel)

  • Anonymous Aug 19, 2010

Looking at the diagram for your vehicle, out of the three lines in question, the left one goes to the LH driver's side wheel, the middle goes to the RH passenger's side wheel and the one on the right goes to the rear brakes.

  • Anonymous Aug 19, 2010

#1 goes to the LH front wheel,

#2 goes to the RH front wheel

#3 goes to the Rear brakes

    LH = means Driver Side

    RH = means Passenger Side

Hi.

This is what I have let me know if it is what you need.

im looking for a brake line diagram of all the - f4114e5.jpg
The numbers are:
1. The inlet brake lines coming from the Master Cylinder.
2. The outlet lines going to front and back brakes.

The brake lines in the picture show the shape etc so you should be able to work it from this.

Let me know if you need more information.

Thanks

Jason

Yes that is the right picture but which line goes to which port of the #2's, Front Right, Front Laft, and Rear, what is the order of the lines in the EHCU

  • Anonymous Aug 17, 2010

If you just look at the pic. the left to the left port and the center to the center port and the right to the right port.

  • Anonymous Aug 17, 2010

so u are positive that the top left port#2 is the Left front brake, the center #2 is the rear brakes, and the right#2 is the front right brake, guaranteed????

  • Anonymous Aug 17, 2010

Well going form the shape of the pipes you can only fit the pipes in one order other wise they will be crossing over each other and if they are doing that then they are in the wrong ports.

But I can say that the pic I sent you is from the manufacture so if they say that is the order then it has to be.

  • Anonymous Aug 17, 2010

The brake lines were rotted beyond just rust and were taken out of the EHCU before I could tell where they came from. I am positive that the primary and secondary from master cylinder are in the far end ports due to they were still in tact but were still replaced.. I was thinking more like from left to right it would be left front, right front and rear, but thats an assumption also. I was looking for the exact spots the brake lines connect to, I have the Ford service manuals and all it shows is a picture similar to what you posted above, no where can i find where the lines connect from which wheel.

  • Anonymous Aug 18, 2010

I don't have the exact port to brake line diagram or description but from what I can make out there are 2 lines for the front and 1 line for the rear which splits down by the differential.

The 2 very outside ports are from the master cylinder the 3 in the middle are as such:
    - The 2 outside ports are L/H and R/H for the front
    - The center port is for the the rear brakes.

Hope this gets this problem solved for you.

Brake line diagram 1999 f150

Hey guys looking at that diagram, just below the Line #1 on this side there is a fitting installed into the block, actually three of them but the one closest to us looking at the diagram is leaking on my 99 Ford Lightning. Any ideas why or how to fix it?

1answer

My brakes are leaking in the rear driver side need a diagram of brake lines to folllow.

Follow the brake line starting at the left rear wheel, there is no diagram for brake lines, take the tire off and inspect (look) left rear wheel, It will be wet where the leak is, if the inside of the tire is wet then you might want to check the brake cylinder, behind the brake drum. You might want to take it to a shop and get it fixed, It is your life and others, if you can't stop.

The LF and RR are in an independent circuit of the RF, LR wheels. The master cylinder already has the lines hooked up in a way that if you trace the lines, you can make your own diagram.

It's pretty simple. The front line from the mastercylinder should go into a tee, then from the tee to each front wheel. The rear the same way. No proportioning valve is needed with 4-wheel discs.
