2001 Ford Ranger. When I move my steering wheel up or down on my Ranger, I lose turn signal and brake lights. Any thoughts?

Turn signals are attached to the wheel, so likely a loose connector, or dirty connector from the wires that go from those into the harness. The brake pedal switch is close by so may join at that place. It is a case of getting under there with a flashlight, break the connections, check the contacts for corrosion or burning, and spray with electrical contact cleaner.

2001 Ford Ranger 3.0. Engine misfiring. Does someone have an answer please?

That is a lot of replaced parts! Was this a 'let's try changing this' method of car repair? It doesn't work. A Pro-Grade scan tool computer will usually diagnose the part or the module with the issue. Did you check compression on number 6 for a sticking valve? The other possibility is that your replaced o2 sensor is defective is caused a rich mixture, dumping gas and a carbon fouled plug. Sensors come in qualities at three levels. Always buy the OEM spec sensors as they are so critical to efficient running. Avoid Made in Mexico and Made in China. I recommend Denso.

2001 Ford Ranger XLT 3.0, 4 door Can anyone help with these issues listed below? Need Help Please.

Question edited for clarity and typos. Question moved to Ford Ranger category. Wow you changed a lot of stuff, you nearly have a new truck! To me this all screams electronics, sensors and modules. Fouling is a rich mixture, caused by o2 sensors and the ECM interpreting the data. You need a good auto-electrician, not a spanner mechanic, one that has a $5,000 pro grade scan tool computer. The stored data DTCs and the Live Data as the engine is running has all the answers to diagnose the fault, and it it probably an easy one.

What Wire do I attach to in my 2001 Ranger for the tach mode of m RS82 emote starter

Here is what I found:TACHTAN/YELLOW (AC)@ PCM, See NOTE #5 NOTE #5: the PCM is located on TOP of the FIREWALL toward the Passenger side of the vehicle under the hood in Pin 48. It is also at the Ignition coil. With that information, it might be easiest to check for the Tan/Yellow wire on the coil pack and follow it back to a suitable spot to tap into it. You can get more information by going to the Bull Dog Security site and looking up their wiring diagrams with pics and such as well: http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/bdnew/vehiclewiringdiagrams.aspx

2001 Ford ranger shakes at 45 mph until I let off the gas. I drive a little further and it starts shaking again until I let off the gas. Drive more, shakes, let off the gas. Still shakes.

Have the front end checked for worn parts like suspension rubber bushings and worn tie rod ends or ball joints, all will cause this

I have a 2001 ford ranger. I am having trouble filling the gas tank. Vapors won't release and it takes a very long time to fill the tank. Is there a vent valve on the tank?

DEAR Frank, ABSOLUTELY NOT (and with EXTREMELY good cause). Your tank is specifically designed to NOT LET VAPORS escape... If things are working properly you ought to be hearing a SUCKING SOUND when you pull off the gas cap... Here in California... EPA folks go completely homicidal at the notion of gas fumes (this being the STATE where we have BAY FRONT retirement centers for our GAZILLION deathrow inmates... (folks all queued-up for their last meal)...!! ((I'd spell *****-row correctly... but I don't believe it would get past our PC squads)). Not only are they (vapors) harmful to the environment... they are EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. Beg, borrow or BUY the book and read up-on VAPOR RECOVERY system... (TOTALLY). Check your charcoal canister is not saturated... and CONSIDER going to better GAS STATIONS. Stop by your local FIRE house or US Coast Guard duty station... And find out first hand how easy it is to strike up a conversation on the EQUIVALENT STICKS of DYNAMITE... for a single ounce of PROPERLY VAPORIZED gas fumes. It's all incredibly fast and fatal... Get yourself completely QUALIFIED before you create a serious disaster!! Better still... hire a qualified (CERTIFIED) professional. CA.gov: Only 10 days since last tweeked: Vapor Recovery Program Real factory manual (no Vol 3 = electrical). Ford 2001 Ranger Workshop Manual Two Volumes
