1988 bronco2 lifters clattering oil light on changed oil put marvel in it cleaned out valve covers still rattling oil light still on

fuel injector is not as prodominant, and lifter tick is louder and lower in the engine. Also, IIRC, lifter will be a lower pitch tick than injector

My Lincoln Continental 2000 Model oil light came on engine stopped after 25 feet. would not restart even though oil full. The car started the next day, but had a rattling sound at the top of the motor

Oil light is rather important it goes out if oil pressure is good comes on if oil pressure is low when it comes on damage is expected with continued operation like wearing of main bearings and pistons and cylinders can lead to a engine rebuild

Lifters rattling and engine oil light is on? 1998 ford taurus...lost!

I agree with Ray Gallant. Also, you might need to change oil and filter. Dirty oil will cause the lifters to shake, rattle and roll. Or the wrong weight of oil - especially in cold weather.

How do you adjust the values on my jeep wrangler 4.0 6cyl

as they are hydulic you should not have to adjust them,if they are rattling,it's usually due to poor oil change history, try engine flush and you may have to remove sump afterwoods if the gunk blocks up the oil pickup, filters block and unfiltered oil then circulates throughout engine and makes lifters noisy,to check hyd lifters you need a "bleed down bar"to compress lifter and measure gap between rocker and valve,if it does have adjustable rockers then it's done with engine idleing with rocker cover off ,back off nut till it rattles, thentighen it down till it stops and then 1/4 more turn

04 nissan altima rattling noise

that would be the engine front , you sure it's a Rattle ? if so ? it will be your Camshaft bearing noise, is it a 2.5 L 4 cylinders ?or 3.5 L V 6 !! .
if it's 2.5 L , your Camshaft bearings are starving for oil , so I suggest you check them both intake and exhaust cams and see also if the valve lifters or cam bearings are in bad shape , worn out ? check also both cams journals and drive journals to lifters ( contact operation ) if there is a suspicious gaps between them that also can cause a rattle sound .

2.4 l has top end rattle what do you think it might be ? im wondering that its lifters

CLATTERING NOISE COULD BE WORN LIFTERS OR OIL CONTAMINATED WITH ANTIFREEZE OR GASOLINE.OR THE OIL PASSAGES IN BLOCK STOPPED UP WITH SLUDGE.TRY CHANGING ENGINE OIL AND FILTER ADD A CAN OF SEAFOAM TO CRANK CASE.DONT OVER FILL CRANK CASE.IF CLATTERING DOES STOP NEW OIL GET REAL BLACK DIRTY.YOU PROBABLY NEED TO CHANGE OIL FILTER AND OIL AGAIN.WHEN SEAFOAM CIRCULATE THROUGH THE ENGINE BLOCK FLUSHING OUT CARBON SLUDGE BUILD UP IN OIL PASSAGES.IT WILL GO TO OIL CRANK CASE GETTING NEW OIL DIRTY.SO CHANGE ENGINE OIL AGAIN.ONCE LIFTERS QUIET DOWN.IF LIFTERS NOISE CONTINUE.YOU NEED NEW LIFTERS.

The engine valves are rattling like a desiel, on my 1998 ford explorer 5.0. How can i solve this?

This engine has hydraulic lifters that depend on clean oil with good oil pressure. Check the oil dipstick for proper level. Try an oil additive that is supposed to help sticky lifters. If no help, you may need to replace the entire lifter set which requires removing the intake manifold and removing the rocker arm assemblies to get to the lifters. If the engine has high miles, you may need other repairs as well. Good luck!

MY 2000 Montero Sport has a loud knocking when i Start it UP ESPECIALLY WHEN ITS COLD IT GOES AWAY AFTER IT WARMS UP

Sounds like a hydralic lifter issue. These lifters operate the cylinder valves and run off oil pressure. When the engine is cold and the oil is thick worn lifters tend to rattle. When the engine warms up, everything expands and the lifters stop rattling. There is no easy cure for this except replacing the lifters. Sorry....

1998 volkswagon passat engine lifter rattle

Cause is lack of oil not getting to lifters. Try using a good cleaner to flush the engine and change to a lighter oil for a couple oil changes.
