blac smoke means valve guides or rings are worn-u wud need a rebuild in time--but 1st try sae straight 40wt oil or some additive like lucas or othr thickener----also a tuneup w new plugs/cables--distributr/coil may help or some professional injector cleanin
It is a clear case of the glow plugs malfunction. It had happened with my neighbor who tried to start his diesel focus one day. Even jump starting with another battery didn't solve the starting problem.
You could also check the EGR valve for damages and if you want to save a couple of bucks, then go in for used parts for the focus from Good used Focus Stuff
What happening is you have a bad head gasket or its starting to go bad. As long a little oil is getting in to cylinders causing that smoke once it warms up that gasket is expanding thus the smoke stops. I would keep an eye on oil levels if it gets milky replace gasket asap. Could also be intake gasket but highly doubt it this sounds like a worn head gasket.
White "smoke"? It's probably steam,which is coming from coolant in the comustion chamber.You're most likely looking at a blown head gasket or a cracked head.
these engines are pron to injector failure !!! white smoke means dumping fuel ! black smoke means lack of air ! blue means burning oil! its not an easy task! by all means not cheap! ull need 7 injectors and one #8 injector call a ford dealer to see the price ! but i would also call an international aka navistar dealer! there sometimes cheaper
