So its a wagon? or I dont know what S/W is. If the license plate light works, the light failure sensor could be bad. It should be in the left rear corner area and have 4 wires. Green, Light Green, Yelow/Green and White/black. You should have power on the Green going into the box, and the Light Green out to the tail lights. If you have power on the Green, but no power on the Light Green, then the box is bad, either replace the box, or you can just connect the Green to the Light Green wire to get tail lights operating.

The tail lights do not work. The headlights, blinkers, and brake lights work. I checked the fuses and they are all good.

It can be faulty tail light bulb or its issue with tail light control switch or its wiring's are short.

Check the voltage at fuse slot of tail light.Do you receive 12 volt there. If not, then it says tail light switch is not receiving power supply.

Tail lights only work while pressure is being made on the brake pedal, lights work fine otherwise, I assume this is a Vaccum leak somewhere, any idea where i can find the line?

If tail ights only work while putting o nthe brakes, that means the bulbs need replaced.

Those bulbs have two elements in them,,,1 for brake lights , 1 for tail ights.

Repalce the bulbs and all will be fine.

When I turn on lights of 91 Camry, tail lights & backup lights are not lit. Rear side marker lights & license plate lights are lit. When I step on the brake, all the rear, stop, backup, plate and...

I have a 98 Camry and was having problems with tail lights and fuses. I kept blowing a fuse which was making my tail lights not work. I tried paying very close attention to when they would be working and all the sudden not be working. I know it sounded funny, but I told my mechanic that it seemed if I used my trunk, my fuse would blow. Come to find out, the wire was touching the hinges of my trunk. So when I popped my trunk and closed it, it blew my fuse every time.
