VERY SIMPLE!!!!!

4.7L The MAP sensor is located on the front of the intake manifold. An O-ring seals the sensor to the intake manifold.

  1. Disconnect electrical connector at sensor.
  2. Clean area around MAP sensor.
  3. Remove 2 sensor mounting bolts.
  4. Remove MAP sensor from intake manifold.
To Install:
  1. Clean MAP sensor mounting hole at intake manifold.
  2. Check MAP sensor O-ring seal for cuts or tears.
  3. Position sensor into manifold.
  4. Install MAP sensor mounting bolts (screws). Tighten screws to 3 Nm (25 inch lbs..) torque.
  5. Connect electrical connector.

    They make a small spring-type insert called a "helicoil". If you cannot find one of those, you can go the next sive up and re-tap the hole with a tap and die set. Basically with this tool, you are making a new hole with a new bolt.

A plugged Catalytic converter will cause this. So will a Bad MAP or MAS (Mas Air ) sensor. So will a bad TPS (Throttle Position) sensor.

Get a spray bottle fill with water spray the ignition wires have some one crank it to start and check for spark leakage

P0108 = MAP sensor circuit high voltage

The MAP sensor communicates the barometric pressure inside the intake manifold to the ecm.
This code can indicate either a fault in the MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor, or a possible vacuum leak, either from a hose or the intake gasket.

It could be the connector on this sensor isn't making good contact. I would check the connector before you replace the sensor. It more than likely needs a new MAP sensor.

Try replacing the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor first. You can try disconnecting the MAP sensor and see if the engine starts, if it does, then replace the MAP sensor. Good luck and hope this helps, check the wire harness to the MAP sensor.
A Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor is a input sensor that measures the change in engine manifold pressures. Not to be confused with a baro (barometric sensor) that measures the altitude in which the vehicle is being operated in. And also not to be confused with a MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor)that measures air flow and density of the air for the computer to make fuel adjustments.
The MAP is an electronic device that is composed of an empty chamber with a flexible diaphragm in the center. One side of the chamber would be exposed to atmospheric pressure while the other is connected to the engine vacuum. This difference in pressure causes the diaphragm to bend one way or the other. The degree of deflection is measured by the strain gage and that data is relayed to the ecm. Depending on how much or little vacuum there is in the engine depends on the operating conditions and thus the ecm can know how hard the engine is running and therefore supply the correct amount of fuel to supply and maybe when to most efficiently ignite the spark.

If the speedometer still works,then no you don't need the speed sensor.The problem sounds more like the catalytic converter Which was a recall item on most Durangos and Dakotas for that year should be replaced for free at the dealer.
