It would definitely help if you were more specific as to what sort of 1992 RS you're asking about. I'm assuming you're referring to a Chevrolet Camaro.
It may already have a blown head gasket. The max pressure on the cooling system in normal conditions is 18psi. How do you know the fan or fans are ok ? The computer signals the relay to turn the fans on if the engine temp reaches 220 degrees or you turn on the a/c. If the temp sensor does not have coolant to tell it the engine temp, the fans won't come on. As for a toggle switch, you would need a relay mounted close to the fans because they will pull too much current thru only a switch.
why?? if you have to, find the wire that powers the fan and run a toggle switch inside the car, make sure it is fused, if you can, find a switched circuit so that you do not forget and leave it on
Man! this is a good one! Try painting the spair tire blue! If that's not it, Make sure the fans are pulling air through the rad. not pushing. (it's easy to wire them in reverse). Did you convert to 134? If so the condenser may need to be replaced with an after market, more efficient one. Also recheck the small stuff like, water flow, kinks in hoses, thermostat.
IT IS LOCATED ON DRIVER SIDE OF ENGINE BEHIND THE THERMOSTATE HOUSEING IT HAS TWO WIRES YELLOW AND BROWN HOPE THIS HELPS . -------------------------------- there is a fan control relay under the dashboard with the other relays check that then check the temperature contreol module theat is located in the engine compartment --------------- there is a 2 speed sensor/sender on the lower part of the radiator, facing the driver. It's on the tube at the end of the radiator. The fan motor has three leads, an orange, which should be hot, and is monitored by a 40 amp fuse located either on top of the battery, or with the fuse modules/relays under the dash. (according to the book, I still can't find mine, it may be NEXT to the battery. The negative must be thru the chassis, so it would be a good idea if, at temperature, with two hots going to the motor, look for a shorted ground. If one of the hots isn't, then the sensor or 40 amp is bad. After those are ruled out, it's the motor.
