look under the car where the transmission and the engine are bolted together. you can't miss it.

A basic set of tools is all you need to remove and install it. Pay particular attention to what wires are on what posts and make sure those wires end up in the right positions.

I would stick with the 700r4 and have it gone thru and maybe have a shift kit installed. You may have to change out some things putting in a 400.

The Caster should be between 2.3degreesand 3.3degrees,Camber should be between +.3 degrees to +1.3 degrees but I myself would recommend closer to the+.3 degrees and as for the Toe should be about 1/16th toed in to not more than 3/32 toe in.

to put a later model engine in that car,the swap you described will require a complete wiring harness change and computer and all electrical that goes with whatever late model engine you go with.

got a clutch pedal in there? If auto, it could be a 700r4 or some variation of that. You can likely get exact info from a dealer if you give them the vin #.

i would first look at the main harness going to your ecm(engine control module) there is a 60 pin connector the bolt that hold the connector is a 10 mm remove the bolt and remove the connector it should be clean with no burn marks to show signs of a short. if there are burn marks not only must you replace the connector but you fried the ecm as well and that needs replacing. also check your relays. often times even though you don't blow a fuse the relay still may short out. this is a good place to start. let me know the results

You need to buy an adaptor. You can buy them at Wal-Mart for about 10 bucks.

if you have the engine out itheir is a vin num stamped on the rear of the heads ,olso if its a small block shuch as a 350 327 305 or even the 400 small block90% of the engine parts are enter changeable,
their shoulf also be a vin number stamped on the block right above the top bolt of the water pump on the drivers side
