210 is normal. you should have changed hoses while engine was dry. Dexcool is the only coolant to use in GM, never green universal.. Does the cooling fans come on?
Have you checked to see if the cooling fans are coming on? Is the coolant level low? Could also be a weak water pump. Does the temperature gauge appear to work normally or do you go from low temp to high temp and then back to low rather quickly? If so, it could be a bad thermostat.
you might want to check the wires going to the temperature sensor on the engine make sure it hasnt rubbed the protective coating off, this can give you a false reading, the safest way is to put a manual gauge in place of the temperature sensor and run engine to make sure the engine is not overheating. You can pick up a cheap manual temp gauge at your local parts store and install the temperature probe into the hole where the temp sensor was located and run the engine. It sounds like you have a guage malfunction. But is better to be safe than sorry.
it sounds as though your acadia may not actually be overheating, it sounds more like the tempeture sensor is bad, if its "froze" at a certain reading this could fool your computer, you should be able to replace this part for around 20 or 30 dollars. hope this helps
yeah it sounds like it is sticking,,,i know some of the GMs have aoring seal in the thermostat and over time it gets stuck inside the thermostat and causes weird issues
