there are 3 electric systems sold on this car.
one 1 has simple brake lamp switch, and the export is very complex.
ive not a clue what country you reside (or car was sold new)
so cant guess. or advice, beyond a fuse check.
but on 2 of the 3, cars
the wt/tan wire at the brake switch.
if 0v and the fuse is good, #2
then the switch is bad or maladjusted.
if wt/tan wire is 12v brake appled
then the wire is cut to the rear of car... lamps.(harness)
this is common with trailer wiring hacks (uhaul hacks)
Check fuse f3 located in fascia fuse box, below steering wheel just above data link connection 15AMP
Fuse under bonnet f7 also connected to dash/rear lights, but if this blows you would have no indicators as well
good luck barry
Hi its rob here what make and model of car is it? it sounds like the light switch is faulty but that wouldnt stop the brake lights workin try two stop and tail light bulbs then if you have stop lights your switch is at fault
The brake lights work off a different circuit than the tail lights do, that's why there is a seperate fuse.Check the brake light switch, which is under the dash near the top of the brake pedal on the back side of it, it might be stuck in.
