My rear passenger door will not close. It just

My rear passenger door will not close. It just keeps bouncing open. I've seen advice to spray with WD40 but I don't know exactly where - the outside handle, the inside handle, into the button, or take off the door (how?). Can anyone advise?

Look on the very end ot the door you will see where the recieving latch is.This is where you spay. You need to make sure that the latch didn't fall into the closed position. You can look at the latches on the other doors to see what they look like in the open position. You can take a flat screwdriver to flip the latch back and forth while you hold the handle.

Testimonial: "Saw what you meant & tried it & it worked - thank you! Any idea if it's likely to do again and if I need a new lock - or a constant supply of WD40?"

Well lube will probibly last .May have had dirt or just a little frozen up.You may want to invest in something a little thicker than WD40.

You may have flipped the latch down on the door unkowning. Look at the end of the door and find the latch the jaws should be open. If not hold up on outside door handle and take your finger and open jaws in the latch.

Testimonial: "Tried your solution and it did work after a bit of spraying with WD40 - thank you! Any idea if I will need a new lock or if this should do the job? "

2001 gmc safari passenger door lock is stuck in lock keeping the door from closing

Did you look at door latch on door? In the old days sometimes, a piece for the door latch assembly would get turned down, when that happened, the door would bounce off the door stud on door frame. Sometimes you could take a screwdriver and flip that arm up, then the door will shut. The door stud on the door frame has to go into a slot on the door latch mechanism.
Granted, I can't see anything from here? I may be barking up the wrong tree? Just a thought.

How can u align chevy extra cab rear door?

First, with the door almost tight; spray the inside area with wd40 to coat the painted area then, use a test spray paint color to see if the paint will stick to the wd40 and the wipe off, if it does you will be able to close the door and open the front door with the rear door closed and spray the hinge area with a paint to make your marker then use a jack with cloth at the bottom to protect the new door to aid in tightening and realingning

Vw golf mk4 my rear passenger door willnot open with central locking key system. i can't even open it from the inside, pull the door handle and the lock pin rises but door won't open. i believ

This worked for me on 2008 Mk5 Golf, after the rear passenger door would not open fro outside or inside.

Hold the inside door latch open and keep it extended, then with the key fob open and close the door locks (still holding the inside latch open). Keep locking and unlocking the door, then it made a kluck and it released.

Rear passenger door won't stay closed

Door latch on door itself is in closed position if it will not close at all. In this case, open door and pull outside handle hard to pop open door latch. If you have door opening at random, door latch needs replacing or door catch on body is loose.

Last night we started the car to clean off snow. Closed the doors. Cleaned the car. Got in and the doors would not close. It appears that the mechanism on the door that grabs and latches the door...

If the latch is in the closed position, simply use a screwdriver to pry as if the door was being opened at the same time as you pull on the handle to open it. This will return the latching part to its proper position and you can then close the door. If the latch is already open and won't close when you shut the door, the quickest way to get it closed is to heat the latch with a blowtorch. Don't get close enough to the door that you scorch and burn the paint but heat the area arond the latch for about 30 seconds or so and the door should latch. You could also do this with a hair dryer or heat gun but it will take longer. Open and close it a few times quickly and it should work properly for a while. To keep it from happening again, once you have it working freely then spray into the latch with some WD-40 or RustCheck. Don't be shy with the spray and get it right into the latch through the door. If it keeps being a problem then before you spray it with a lubricant use a small can of lock de-icer once you have the door working. After that put the lubricant in. Hope this helps.

Rear doors will not close just keep bouncing open

Before you take the inner door panel apart try to spray an oil like WD40 into the door latch mechanism & Open & close many times. The return spring for the latch has stuck and it needs some waking up. Getting then inner panel off does not help that much in access.
