2007 Saturn Aura; when trying remote start horn beeps three times but doesn't start. I've replaced battery. Other functions work fine - door locks, trunk opens, alarm arms. Other key fob works fine.

To expand on rickb63, the tones are indicating that the remote start cannot be activated. The usual culprit in this situation is the hood latch. There is an electric switch that tells the car that the hood is closed. If the hood is opened during the remote start sequence, the vehicle will stop. Likewise, a malfunctioning switch will prevent the remote start from engaging.

This happened to mine at the hood latch location. It was an easy fix. Take a can of WD40 and spray the hood latch. let it soak for 24 hours and your remote start will work again!!!!

I have replaced pretty much the entire power steering assembly on my 2007 Saturn aura xe 3.5 liter engine and since then I’ve had to charge battery everytime I try to start it. And when I crank it to bleed...

It should look like this. When the belt is off, it is a good opportunity the check that all the components on the belt route turn okay and they is no play in bearings, apart from Crankshaft.

Squealing is caused by the belt slipping or a pulley not turning properly. Does the alternator spin feely as charging seems like it might be an issue here. For belt slippage you can spray with a belt conditioner which helps grip.

2008 Aura XR, Key FOB will unlock all the doors but the drivers, and will only remote start the car if the Fob is in the car.

Interesting. My best guess is that there is problem with driver's door lock actuator or switch. The remote start won't work because the car has to confirm that the doors are locked before initiating the starting sequence.
