1995 DODGE CARAVAN worked perfectly until recently

For the engine code (EKG) the firing order is 1-6-5-4-3-2
For the engine code (EGH) the firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6

The engines available for a 1996 Caravan are either 4 , or 6 cyl. engines.
The displacement of them are as follows ;


6-181 (3.0L, VIN "3")
4-148 (2.4l, VIN "B")
6-230 (3.8L, VIN "L")
6-201 (3.3L, VIN "R")

Firts time swap spark plug & ignition coil between two different cylinders and read again if the same #2 cyl. misfires !
If #2 cyl. is OK and another cyl. misfires then spark plug or ignition coil is out of order and must be replaced.
If #2 cyl. misfires again then #2 injector must be checked !
If ignition coils & spark plugs (complete set for 6 cyl.) are replaced then you must check #2 injector !

you can try a bg trany flush and also have the shift pattern reset, what you do is unhook battery for 3min, then connect batt back start and put in low gear start to drive and shift up as you would what it to shift do the same until you reach drive then it should shift that way unless theres atrany problem, but try that bg flush first,hope this is helpful.

Change the air flow meter firstly.

Trans is internally worn and only sealing properly when parts are hot. I would change fluid and filter just to be sure pressure loss is not from filter but if it does not improve, start saving up for a rebuild.
