Check reverse light circuit, possible switch on transmission or burned-out bulbs. Is there power to the bulb socket when the key is on and trans in reverse? Use a test light to check for power at the connector.

What part of manual do u not understand people?? I have an 05 chevy aveo just changed trans fluid.. 75w-90 GL-4 takes about 3.2 quarts.. To drain u have to pull pan off (which makes a big mess) an to fill there is a fill screw on top of transmission next to where battery is un screw an use a long funnel an slowly pour gear oil in...

if its a 5 speed, yes the shifting is loser than normal cars. the reverse is all jacked up.. if its anything like my 06 aveo when you shift into reverse you have to lift the little circle thing on your shifter up ad act like your putting it into first.. If it grinds try doing it slower. I HATE this transmission. Chevy did a horrible job on picking it. I always grind reverse no matter what

LOW BRAKE FLUID LEVEL IN MOST CASES.

Keith, Searched the net on this, a little confusion on this one and not a lot out there. The pan/ diff. cover has to be removed or at least loosened some to change the fluid. Check the attached link,instruction and guide, Good luck

There are a couple of bulletins from GM on valves causing these codes. # 05-06-01-030D and #PIP3063C are the bulletin #'s you need to have them look at. They are related to the valves in the cylinder head causing your exact symptoms. You should contact another dealer or GM customer assistance with this info. Good Luck

There is a Communication problem between the Transmission Control Module (TCM) and the Engine control module. That is the bad news and is why it's shutting down the engine. 
The good news is i believe there is a TSB recall on the 2004 - 2007 chevy aveo for the P0700 problem so it should be covered under warranty.

Good luck and hope this helps and hope it's not a bad ECM. Check the wire harness to the ECM and TCM, look for broken wire or the harness it self gone apart. 

I cant get the key out or lock steering column and the automatic transmission shift lever locks up in park.
Now if I take the battery off every thing works fine.
This sure seems like a reset problem.I run the car by not having it in the locked column position and get the shifter to work by putting a key in the hole furnished
by chevy to bypass shift lock. thank you
