Isuzu 4JA1 starts and immediately goes off, broken priming pump is this the problem? started after service

It could also be that the fuel filter is plugged, allowing only a small amount of fuel to carb Hence it starts but wont stay running.

2001 Hyundai accent wouldn't start this morning after sitting two days prime and no codes kept screwing with it I primed and runs then only primes sometimes but still runs great miss chug

Hi Miss Chug:
I'd start by using some carb/injector cleaner and make sure that the fuel delivery system is working properly.
If this is a carb type engine, make sure the automatic choke is not sticking.

Honda pilot out of gas put gas in and still won't start

false economy that.....
the pump is fuel cooled and Lubricated,
running it dry, wrecks the pump. (at the least lost the prime)

this car is no like an old carb car ,where this is ok.

if lucky key on and off 10 times, and hear the pump, it you hear it run.
it may prime. some cars 1/2 the pump is dead until cranked.
so easy to drain a battery priming the pump.

I Let my chevy Blazer run out of gas,nw it wont start even though the relay and fuelpump is working.

Is it electric or mechanical pump? Electric is with fuel injection. If its fuel injection, you should hear the pump run when you turn ignition switch. If u don't hear it, try starting, if no, turn off then on. It will self prime. Carburetor is with mechanical pump. I usually put few drops of gas in the carb. Start it, if no, more in carb till it stays running.

HARD TO START IN THE MORNING AFTER THAT STARTS GOOD RUNS GOOD 1984 FORD ECONOLINE VAN V8 NOT GETTING FUEL IF YOU PRINES CARB FIRES UP QUICKLY

with a vehicle this old one or more of the rubber fuel hoses may have cracks in it causing air to be pulled in and losing its prime to the carburetor. also the pump may be worn out inside causing this problem. the carburetor has a accelerator pump on it that may be worn and this is why you have to prime it to get it going. have you done a fuel filter in a while? hope this gets you started
