I personaly would run amsoil 5w-30 or royal purple 5w-30. Those are a full synthetic and I can tell you from experience they are great. I run Royal Purple in my silverado and Amsoil in my cbr 600rr. Also, from independant studies done on Royal Purple and Amsoil they can go longer between oil changes then most oils. Royal Purple has been tested after driving 22,500 miles and still could be used if you wanted to leave it in the engine. I usually change mine around every 10,000 to 12,000 miles.

What type oil do I use in my 2002 toyota echo

5w30 weight Oil is reccomended for most temperatures for your vehicle. You will use just a little under 4 quarts of oil to achieve a proper reading on your oil dipstick.

We just bought a used 1999 silverado 5.3l 4x4 and i am not sure what type oil to use for an oil change

The oil weight is on the oil fill cap. (Usually 5w-30) Use a good oil, synthetic is better, but changing at 3000 miles for regular oil is good.

Starts right up few minutes later the oil light comes on and the motor starts tapping and sounds like its gonna blow up.

possible old engine oil or wrong weight, the specs given in you manual do not account for wear the more miles you have the heavier the oil should be but it must be replace at the right time 3,000 to 5,000 to keep the oil flowing perfectly, the older the oil the harder it is for it to flow. change the oil and use lucas oil additive if this does not solve your problem it is possible that is time to rebuilt or replace.Dont forget the filter!

What type of oil and brake fluid do I need for the 2002 Mitsubishi Galant?

If U look in your owners manual it tells U that type of stuff. If U don't have the manual for the oil it should tell on the dip stick. For the brake fluid its more than likely DOT 3 fluid.

Hope this helps

Synthtic oil

yes synthetic oil can be used in just about any vehicle. Older vehicles with high miles it is reccomended to use high milliage oil but you should be fine with synthetic oil just make sure to use a high millage filter. reason is that traditional filters only last 3000 miles but synthetic oil lasts 5-6000 miles. A high millage filter will last tha same as the oil.
