Use a volt-meter or test light to find the positive supply power from your vehicles wires, and the ground wire too. attach those to the new radio's power wires (and attach the new radio's ignition power wire, or switching wire to the positive power wire from your vehicle too). The point will be to get power to the new radio so that you can do a trial by error to find which speakers turn on when you connect them. Just follow the sound! after you have found all the speaker wires. the last thing is to find which wire from your vehicle needs to be attached to the ignition wire on your radio. This wire makes sure your radio is off when your keys are turned off so not to drain the battery. if you cannot find a switching ignition wire, run a wire to a connection in the back of a fuse panel connection (which you can test any connection with your volt meter to see if it shuts off with the key.

the dash has a dimmer, this is dash park lights
and runs all radio back lights.
so if the dial is low, its dark
if the dash cluster glows good the dimmer is ok
and the wire to the radio called, dial

on after market radios its the orange wire. not 12v, its dead.

suzuki uses different colors.
turn on parks, with a voltmeter measure 12vdc at DIAL wire.
at radio.
0v bad, 12v good, if 12v then radio lamps are Blown out.

Fuse diagram

You may need an adapter to allow the unit to be compatible with your vehicle. Go to a local audio installation center and ask for info regarding this problem. They should be able to assist you. More of the newer audio units aren't really designed for older model vehicles so retro fit wiring and adapters are usually needed.

Need to install radio but plugs are gone

depending on u installing aftermarket or factory radio, the plugs in your expedition dont really matter, its the ones on the back of the radio your installing that need to be there. first you have to find out which wire/wires are hot (+) and which ones are ground (-) you can do this with a very helpful tool called a test light. use metal of car to find your hot wire, then use the hot wire you just found to locate a suitable ground location, can be wire or metal of vehicle. then about your speakers, they will usually be different colors, the easiest foul proof way is to partially remove the door speakers one at a time, when you see what colored wires connect it, it will be the same ones to connect in your dash. good luck!

Radio wires differ from the speaker to the radio

This is the most common problem with self installs. The best thing to do is to get the car radio installation plug,it will plug into the factory plug for your factory radio and will give you a color coded pigtail to wire into that usually matches up perfectly with new aftermarket car radios. If the wires are already cut then you best bet is to extend the wires so that they are easy to work with hookup the power, ground, antenna and try dirrerent combos to isolate each speaker and label the wires accordingly.
