My personal suggestion would be to go for these repair catalogs. I know this website www.reliable-store.com that i used to get manuals from, and they have all models online.
I also brought for my
1989 BMW, such old model, they had it and it was very good manual. Go ahead, I bet.

If the engine knock is coming from deep inside the engine, the I agree, the rod is knocking.
If the sound is coming from closer to the top, it could be a valve lifter or push rod you are hearing. This isn't as bad, they last longer and synthetic oil or oil treatment helps.
If this doesn't happen all the time, if it's occasional or you hear a pinging noise, you could just have a bad knock sensor.

Well first and foremost I would check the spark plugs and check your coils because if one of those are bad it could cause a lot of hesitation or also you might want to check your fuel filter out to make sure that it's giving you adequate fuel pressure

have the oil pressure checked using a mechanical gauge
indications are that the oil pressure sender unit is stuck at the same pressure reading

Those who suggested a defective speed sensor could be right.

I don’t think the problem is associated with replacing the water pump - the clicking noise is the solenoid on the starter motor not holding in - the Solinoid is either faulty or the battery is too flat to keep it engaged.
Check the battery voltage while it is clicking - or charge the battery - if the problem persists you could pull the starter and get it checked by an auto electrician.

yes use pry bars that you can squeeze in there. if you can position a bar from opposite side and use 2lbs or hammer to hit. spring clip on spline shaft has to be bumped pretty sharply to get it out of grove, some are very stubborn. hit the old shaft and stay away from hub or you may damage hub.

lots of ways.
all bad.
someone poured it in is 1. (jiffyboobs?)
extreme engine flooding may be one way, on a very worn engine.
leaking past very bad piston rings.
or the induction filled up with Diesel and backed up to some vent to crankcase, (PCV system, breach)
or far worse , cracks where cracks dont belong.

I doubt VERY much just replacing the converter is going to solve that problem. Get a second PROFESSIONAL OPINION.

the transmission is super common GM box.
no lack free books ever google, 4L30 yet>

TCC has 2 parts not just one, 3 counting the TCM driver.
and 4 counting wire to and from.
the TCC lock is solenoid lock.
http://www.makcotransmissionparts.com/4l30e.html

http://www.makcotransmissionparts.com/mm5/graphics/Catalog-pdf/4L30E.pdf

the device below is just 1/2 half the path, to the actual lock.
the TCM engages this part below and it sends pressure to the
actual lock.either can fail, so can TCM.
its in the transmission.
the valve body.
the question really is which pan tiny or big.
2 in the front (here) see photo at end
3 in the rear, VB. not here total 5
the TCC on this car is PWM type. (modulated 2000+)

shows the conversion and how it all works too. all on one page.

isuzu is a dead car company few less on road every day till none at all, finding a mech that ever seen one is going to be hard.
and worse every day , why own any ISUZU>?
they bugged out in the USA,as did suzuki, yugo, daewoo.

no engine stated, nor vin code 8th digit (means engine code)
the check engine light can come on for loose gas cap
or far worse, not scanning it now, is really a bad choice.
seeing as how you will have to teach your mech how to fix an Isusu
LOL that.
ever heard of ASE shops?, they will not make lame excuses.
Google find ASE shops by ZIP, (its not a brand shop its skills)

wow you don't check your own DIP stick that is a doom practice if
ever there ways, super bad on any engine
check oil every other fill-up. if it drops too fast every week, do it "every fill up"
same thing since 1884 to now, no changes..!!
why let quicklub touch your car, why not real ASE mechanics?? and not untrained oil swappers.
what if last joker put antifreeze down wrong hole. (they do all the time there)
I'd at the least watch their every move....

Find a real shop and get it serviced and tell the
"Low Pressure lights, deal and hear him yell at you.." sorry, but is
justified.

THIS lamp? if on?, means 2 possible things
1: engine will burn up and seize bearings soon. (fast)\
2; the pressure sender is bad.
do not ask this quick lube jokers why!

pressure-oilmgcybvt25bld3udvqu02u-3-0.jpg
lets see this cause?
drove with no oil in pan (or small and sucks air in turns, ouch)
lamp glows, you ignore it! BAD to bone ,that.

then burn up 1 main bearing, it now has horrid clearances, on 1 bearing, could be more.
makes noise now, and now fuel pressure will never be good again.

scratch one good engine. all for lack of basic weekly service.
(per fill up)
btw older cars need checks more often.

as the burn more oil you learn that
and adjust your actions to prevent above.

holy moly, r guacamole.!
a near record breaking wall of text!
2001 trooper, no engine stated, why?
automatic trans or stick shifted, main box,.>??
ASB needs service, scanned, i'd bet $100 you cant.
ABS needs good brakes, too.
NO ABS works right ,say if pad is gone or sliders jammed
car needs a full brake inspection, not doing a 10 page wall of text there, not ever on brakes (sure sensor wires damaged, so look first)?

never ask how much to fix it, here ever.
you never even to country;/state or if in Canada.
ask your REPAIR shop, prices vary by parts costs
and labor rates, WORLD WIDE< or even STATE WIDE.

TOD is a complex system
if you bought the service manual you'd see its Unique to Isuzu, and most shops will not understand it.
(both rare and Unique)
why own a car from a bugged out ISUZU,,
they dont sell cars here now. none. gone.
id buy the SM book, and keep in the car so your mechanic
and read it...
shifter jumps>
bad mounts, find real shop this time, ASE
Goggle find "ASE SHOP BY ZIP"
WIN (usa )

NO THE CAR IS NOT DIY FRIENDLY! sorry.
IT'S NO TOYOTA COROLLA, 40MILLION SOLD!
We are blind here and deaf.
we cant drive your car, ever. and see all that
all cars are complex machines and need HANds on
diagnoses, and tests driven.'

find a real shop, that can do all that, and not look at you
and say, undriven, that normal.! (if true they sux)

Id' sell it and buy real jeep, not a(1/2 Mitsubishi /jeep POS)
then shops can see it and fix it. they know it.
this car you have is NOT common and TOD is not known in shops, they look at it and go../... oMG.

no lie ,TOD was good back when.
a smart design and system.
but this is 2017, most shops never seen one ever.
unless you can find some old guy(gay hair)
my guess one of 9 SENSORS/switches ARE BAD,OR THE SHIFT MOTOR ON TOD IS BAD.
AND BAD MOUNTS.

LETS DO THE SUMMATION:
BAD BRAKES, ABS UPSET, OR BOTH.
BAD TOD
BAD MOUNTS
What that costs can exceed value of car in that condition.
or could be all easy fixes
only diagnosis finds truth and costs are based only on
your Realities.)(as in what really was bad)

Why not fix brakes first
leaking fuel 1st 1st
brakes 2nd, get the brakes fixed
Id sell it but if love is in the car(why) then find
a real ASE SHOP AND BREAK OUT THAT VISA CARD

Me grandpappy said!
never put a $100 saddle on a $5 horse.
rings true ,even today.

there are up to 25+ symptoms
of engine overheat.
flushing only works on toilets.
My guess, is it's leaking coolant somewhere.
There should be no pressure next morning.

Cold water does not build pressure.
but if the vacuum breaker in the cap fails
this can cause vacuum pressure, that sounds like
air pressure. but is not. Reverse
Does engine run ok.
have full power,
no pinging
no water leaks.
if it leaks say where exactly.
locations matter,
1: steam blasting in to side, expansion tank running?
2: steam from tail pipe end.?

here are 27 symptoms or causes.

http://jeepdied.com/overheated/overheated%20101.html

same on all water cooled engine,s this.
the top fail is bad thermostat , they live about 7 years, says the top makers.
the next is leaks,
then bad RAD CAP,
cooling fan dead? and more.
running water only not Antifreeze 50%
