2005 Rendezvous - Rear hatch with touchpad will not open manually or with remote. Is this a fuse?

These particular vehicles have common problem with the rear door actuator assembly. This is the electro/mechanical device that's locks and unlocks the hatch. They are fairly expensive, $300-400 range.
If you cannot physically open it manually you will have to remove the hatch panel from inside the vehicle and investigate further. Could be as something as a broken clip that holds an actuator rod. Unfortunately difficult to determine without further diagnosis.

I have one doing the same thing right now you have to pull the inside cover off and free up the latch system it is probably the locking part of the latch

Visit an on-line parts supplier and purchase a new switch/touchpad for inside of the rear handle. Local parts supplier probably won't have it. You can replace it yourself. I did when I owned one of these part pits.

THEIR IS A BAR THAT RUNS FROM THE HANDLE TO THE LOCK AND THEIR IS A PLASTIC CLIP ON EACH END THAT SECURES THE ROD TO THE HANDLE AND LOCK, OPEN THE DOOR AND TAKE OFF THE INSIDE PANEL AND YOU WILL SEE THE BAR. IF THE PLASTIC CLIP BRAKES IT WONT WORK MANUALLY THE CLIPS YOU CAN PURCHASE IN ANY PARTS STORE USUALLY IN THEIR HELP ISLE. THAY ARE LIKE 6.00 FOR A BOX THE ONLY WAY THE SELL THEM IS 15 TO A BOX

A fuse does not operate the rear hatch, neither does the remote, the remote only unlocks the mechanism, so you can use the handle to open it. The only way to open the hatch if it will not open is to drill out the lock and ruin the linkage, in order to manually move the linkage.

If the remote opens the rear hatch your problem is likely the button on the tailgate itself. I replaced mine on my 2005 about 3 months ago for the same fault.One problem you may have replacing the button could be that the screws are corroded and difficult top remove. Other than that it is a pretty easy fix.

There is a switch under the handle you press to open it.
If pressing it and you don't hear the solenoid click you have bigger problem then lost fob
Take it to a dealer to be serviced

should have button below stereo to open the hatch

I have a problem the back door will not open with key remote or just by the touch pad. That I know of is there a release button or something to open the back hatch.
