Check brake fluid level and check abs sensors and connections for damage or proper connections if good have vehicle scanned for trouble code auto stores such as auto zone / advanced auto do it for free this will give u a place to start
Could be any number of break problems, it is just telling you that the breaks need checking and before something fails.

I have the same problem, changing to 4 wheel drive works ok but 4WD light keep flashing. I was told that it needed a solenoid switch.

check the fuse box on the driver side of the car underneath the dash near the door the fuse is probably blown
