Hi Mitsubishi Mirage 1995 rust in roof

Hi
I bought a Mitsubishi Mirage 1995 in 2004 and have just discovered it has a factory fault ie the welding wasn't sealed propertly in the roof so it's rusting from the inside.Is there anyway I can find out about issues like these before I purchase a car?

Now theres carfax but if u go online and check for recall notices or service teck bulletins these tell u if and what problems exist with a vehicle but that doesent always mean that previous owner ever took care of the problem

It sounds more like the electrical connections are disrupted. Did you replace the entire plug wires? They do fail after a few years in use, and the older carbon wires especially go down.

I took my spark plug wires off to replace them and i dont remember how to put them back on

1995 Mitsubishi Mirage 1.5 liter SOHC L4

1995 Mitsubishi Mirage 1.8 liter SOHC L4

the dish in the center of the flexplate should protrude tword the engine, also check for excessive torque convertor run out, as that can crack the flexplate
