Pain in the *** to change
have to remove passenger wheel, splash guard, serpentine belt, drive axle, fight to get out of small hole frame / body in way takes 3 or so hours I would suggest taking it to a shop to be done

I bought a new battery and replace the alternator with a new one. 3 months later the warning light lit up again. what seems to be the problem now. I have a 2003 mazda tribute

The altenator may have went bad again test the altenator and battery again to see that you are in fact charging if not replace and get part free if under warranty good luck hope you get it figured out

2003 Mazda Tribute Battery light comes on but battery tested normal.

even though the altenator tests good, it could still either over or undercharge.The TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) specifies replacing the alternator and re-flashing the PCM.(Powertrain Control Mudule).
