i had a diagnostic ran on the car and it came back with the trouble code for the engine coolant temperature sensor so i'm going to replace that since it's pretty cheap and probably still check out the catalytic convertor just to be safe. thanks for the help

well the maint. light don't matter it just reminds you you need to change oil , tire , belts ect... but the check engine light most likely will tel you whats going on! find a shop that has the old software like the snap-on red brick mt-2500 scanner and they can help you find out what sensor and save alot of money guessing! good luck

yep a coolant sensor that is stuck thinking it's cold will tell the computer it's cold and inrich'n the fuel like a choke and bog the motor till you give it enough air flow and rpm! sounds like you found your issue and why i suggested to get it scanned saves alot of time and guess work. good luck man and i hope you make out alright!

I would have your emissions checked - it sounds as if you may have a clogged catalytic converter. The most common symptom of this is a considerable loss of power.

Can i put a 1994 acura integra ls trans to replace a 1989 acura i

I don't think this would be possible wihtout some hassles.

The engine type build changed twice between the 89 and the 94 series integra.

I would suggest you speak to Honda specialised mechanic before you purchase the 94 tranny.

Also check out the Honda forums as they ahve guys who have done some handy things with the ol integra

My integra bogs down at higher rpms

First run a tank of a strong fuel system cleaner like BG-44K. If that doesn't help, clean the throttle body. If that doesn't help, take it to a mechanic.

Why won't my 1990 acura integra go over 4000 rpm?

Could be fuel filter. This will restrict a lot. If it is automatic it might be your transmission control module. Your check engine light should be coming on if it's not already.
