I know with some cars, you need to put in at least 5 gallons of gas after running out in order to reset the sensor so it starts sending the gas

Cheak if you got spark if got spark spray starting fluid in the intake and see if starts if starts its the fuel problam( inj,pump,etc)

You will need to check the fuel pressure. You will have a connection on the fuel line to the motor under the hood. No fuel pressure indicates one of three problems. Fuse in fuse box, relay in relay box under the hood or fuel pump located in fuel tank.

SOURCE: Car wont start after running out of gas

Try a new fuel filter. you most likely sucked up some junk or maybe water from the tank when it ran out. Check fuel pump make sure it runs.

You may have introduced air bubbles into your fuel lines. Try cranking while flooring the accelerator all the down. This will sometimes help move the air bubble through.

Why wont my 1989 buick lesabre wont start ?
Does it crank? Or there's no crank no start? If it cranks safely get under the vehicle and bang on the fuel tank while someone holds the key in the crank position with the vehicle in park. If it starts it is most likely the fuel pump.

I ran out of gas on my 2005 cavalier and put gas in and it wont start
its fooded try putting the pedal to the floor and keeping it there while you crank over the engine, this might takes a minute or so but it will start.

it wont start right away cause u ran it out of gas, u have to repressurize the full system, turn the key ON and OFF like 5-10 times NOT cranking it over like u gonna start it just in the ON position, if that does nothing then u need to tow might have blown a fuse or relay went bad or even PUMP

I have a 2000 grand am and I ran it out of gas. I put gas in it.
look for the fule rail on top of the motor there should be a release looks like a tire vavle stem push that in and see if you can get fuel to come out that should purge your fuel system if that doesnt work then your fuel pump may have gone out
