Why do you need new brakes for 1 year old truck. Did you compress the pistons back into the calipers before trying to slide it back on. Did you not get the brake pads on. May need to push the spring that holds them in place and slide them on. If you didnt do these steps. Start there. Next time give more information what the real problem is so we dont have to guess what the problem is.

the brake switch is stuck on.there is a switch under your brake pedal that kicks the lights on. that little switch is bad.. this should fix ya up.. good luck keith...

I installed a new turn signal switch in the steering column, and it fixed my brake light problem. Evidentally the turn signal and brake light wires use the same plug wires. It cost about $70. I would suggest doing this.

I had a similar problem like this with my 98 explorer once; neither brake lights worked and the top one stayed on very dimly at all times. It turns out both of my brake lights went bad at exactly the same time, which for some reason made the top light stay on. Felt like an idiot, but all I needed to do was change the bulbs.
