You will need a amp meter to check this. 1. make sure the battery is fully charged 2. remove the negative cable from the battery 3. with the key out of the ignition and doors closed place one probe on the negative battery cable and the other probe on the negative post of the battery (the battery should be in the car with the positive cable attached to the positive battery post) 4. note the amount of amps your truck is drawing (3 is the norm, 5 or more is considered high) 5. if the reading is high remove one fuse at a time, check the amps again until you find which fuse is drawing the extra amps. 6. Start with the smaller fuses; if you suspect it is a problem with the instrument panel start there. This should help you pinpoint your problem area. Good luck

I have 2003 Chev. Blazer, new battery and alt., problem is battery goes dead over night. I noticed the gauges are coming back on when the key is out of ignition.

You may have a shorted wire(s) off the ignition switch. Check the wiring off the switch, and cover any bare or exposed wires.

03 silverado cluster went dead when battery went dead ,put new battery in and sill nothing ,can you help me

Do you own a professional type scan tool ? Would need to see if the instrument cluster can communicate with scan tool . That would be a priority . If the instrument cluster ,for some reason wouldn't be talking, checking power an ground for the cluster . Batteries going dead , changing batteries without a alternative power supply can cause modules to go to sleep permanently ! Battery Disconnect or Replacement Problems I'am not saying that's what happen to your's . 2003 to 2006 GM had cluster problems ! The solder use in the cluster caused silver migration , instrument cluster caused a drain on the battery overnight . Watch these videos !

I have a 2010 mercury Milan premier I had the battery charged yesterday which got the car started and today the battery is dead again

Check if the alternator is charging, Connect a volt meter to the battery and rev the engine a little above idling (about 2000 rpm) if the voltage changes to above 12.5 volts, it's ok. If this is the case, it means your battery is not able to charge anymore and will have to be replaced. If the voltage does not rise, you need to have the alternator checked.

New battery keeps going dead when car shut off overnight

Sounds like a slow drain - like a dome light or short in the wiring.
If the battery stays charged when it is disconnected, you'll have to check for a power drain in the car.

Battery keeps going dead overnight. I've already changed the alternator which tested to be bad and still having the same problem

if you installed a new battery as well as a new alternator, it should not go dead overnight. if you have a short in the vehicle that will drain a new battery that rapidly, the cable would have been melted already. although, dome lights do have a tendency to drain batteries, but not overnight. use a multimeter to check the battery voltage while the motor is running. it should read above 13 volts DC signifying that the alternator is indeed charging the battery.

Battery dead overnight 1992 riviara

A battery that runs down overnight usually means a bad battery cell...you can sometimes see a swelling of the battery case as the cells are aging...if battery is new...a rare starter short can cause the battery to drain overnight...When running, have the battery tested before you are stranded...Hope this helps.
