2001 saturn sl1. Headlights stuck on brights and wont turn off unless i remove the fuses. So now only are the headlights on, but they are stuck on brights mode unless i pull out the fuses. what can I do to fix?

first thing try a new bulb or test the plug connection at the headlights for high beam and low beam i have seen the 2 bulbs burn at same time so check if you have power and ground at the headlights and no fuses burnt

I am having the exact same problem on my 2001 Saturn SL1. I went to Murray's Auto Parts Store in MI and it was 140.00!! for the switch. I'm interested in finding out what you did and if there is any cheap way to fix this.

Headlight Switch....or some call dimmer switch...you must remove steering wheel to complete job....part is around $110 at Autozone or Advance

One: replace the fuse box. Never tape a burned wire. It will eventually catch fire and then... You cannot fix a fuse box that has been burned. Also, there are surely burned wires elsewhere that you have not discovered yet. I recommend that you REPLACE the front harness, or at least the wires that were burned.

It sounds like you have a short within your Headlight Switch.....It's kind of difficult to replace, because you have to disable the airbag system....But just take it to a shop an um quit sure they can do it with no problem......You can also try the relay first because its cheaper...But your problem may be your switch itself...Goodluck

well the relay "if it uses one" to turn on the lights is getting stuck or is still getting voltage to stay on. if there is one it would be in the fuse box.... tap it or remove it replace it ... if its concluded that its not a bad relay something is wrong in the cabin....
