Many Hondas have a lock by the Trunk release and fuel door release.

If the lock is engaged, Pulling the gas cover switch will not open the door. Try using your key to unlock the switch first.

2008 Toyota Camry gas-cap door release is stuck; how do you release it?

Hi fellow,
Your problem has two options ;first, you have to inspect the interior wire that pulls the lock of the gas cap.If found cut you should replace it at the mechanic's. Secondly, once the wire remains uncut or undamaged by any reason, the lock itself might be jammed due to the rust or misuse. Therefore, you are advised to use some anti rust liquid it wil work. Good Luck.

1997 toyota rav 4 hood release dose not work

It may be that the hood release cable has streched so there is no tension when pulling the leaver. Try to reach reach above the lever and pull the cable making it less slack and then pull the lever all the way up with your other hand and hopefully this will open it, if this works i suggest replacing it before it stretches even more or snaps and you wont get it open..

2001 nissan altima with a stuck gas cap door. Lever in front ''seems'' to be working. But mechanism is not releasing. Best way to manually open it.

Open the trunk and behind the trim cover near the gas door only on the inside there is a cable pull there also. the owners manual will show you where it is it you have it.

Gas cap door will not open when release latch is

You might try having a friend bump the gas cover with the heel of their hand while you **** briskly on the release. Have done this a couple of times and once opened, you can use a little lubricant on the exposed parts. Sometimes that is enough.

I went to gas up my 2002 Honda Civic. I pressed the lever inside the cab to release the gas hatch and the hatch would not open. I tried and tried again. A couple of "new" friends at the gas station tried...

PULL ON THE RELEASE LEVER SOMEONE TAP HARD ON THE OUTSIDE COVER IF THIS DON'T WORK PULL ON THE CABLE WITH VISE GRIPS IF THAT DON'T WORK INSERT A SMALL FLAT BLADE SCREW DRIVER IN THE DOOR AND TRY TO RELEASE THE HINGE.

Gas cover stuck - manual backup?

my Jaguar X Type gas cap "sticks". I can open it by wedging a corner of a credit card in the left side or the cover, then go in the car and pull the lever. There are two flimsy metal bands that hold the cover in place and they sometimes bend and then the release doesn't work.  it should open easily with the credit card wedged in; then bend back the metal bands into shape.
