ok try the makers site ask them.
not 2 smart chargers on earth work the same way, for sure flashing lamps.
    only the MAKER knows this.
and no battery told, by you so there can be no answers lacking such KEY FACT.
again, hint 2, no 2 makers of smart chargers DO all battery types, (be super rare this)

also all my chargers , all go off line at power failure or minor lightening hits.
and must be reset as the book told you.
the status on most chargers are.
    1: charging.
    2: bad battery or reversed.
    3: floating now.
4: rest now and off line, due to power bump.
    etc.

That usually indicates battery is beginning to go bad. Eventually it will not hold a charge and will need to be replaced.

The green light means it is ready to use. If the battery is bad though, the light will still be green.

Maybe your battery was damage due to over charging it. You need to replace your battery. The desktop icon can says it's fully charged because you have plugged it and those are the indication that your battery was damage if you unplugged the AC power. The battery of the laptop are disposable and it cannot be repaire. The best solution of your problem was to replace your battery.

Volt gauge

You definitely have a problem with the charging system. As it is, the engine and other electricals are running your battery down. You need to put a voltmeter on the battery with the engine running to verify no charging. When the alternator is working and charging, the voltage will be about 14 volts, or somewhere between 13.5 volts and 14.5 volts. It may not even crank the engine over fast enough to start if your battery voltage is now under 12 volts. Then you would need a boost, but if alternator is not working, what charge you now have in your battery may be quickly depleted and the engine will shut down.
Test the alternator as I stated, or take it off and have it tested at a parts store.

Starter no function?

Two things- is your battery charged and functioning? Second, I've had two vehicles that wouldn't start because the driver's floor mat was catching the clutch pedal.

Many cars have a sensor that will not let the car start unless the clutch is pressed all the way to the floor. If the floor mat is holding the pedal up, the car won't start...

Good luck!

I tried to start the car ( porsche cayenne 2008) by using another battery but it could not start: error message:stearing faulty. So the problem is not the battery... Thank you for answering me

Was the battery from another Cayenne?
German vehicle's electrical systems are very delicate to current changes, even though the batteries may look the same, the amp rating may not be. You can seriously damage the electronics of your porsche by swapping batteries wrecklessly, also the order in which the battery gets unplugged is important, always positive first to allow caps to slowly discharge to ground, your steering is not faulty, the lights went on probably caused by the confusion the computer had due to different currents in the system...
Take care of your vehicle, it aint a bug... :D
Hope this helps...

The battery on my 2000 Porsche Boxster is dead and the car is locked. How do I access the interior to release the hood?

The easiest way is to buy a cheap battery charger, one that plugs into your cigarette lighter socket. Allow the battery to charge for a few hours and then release the trunk when it has come up enough. The most likely reason for your battery going down is a faulty alternator. I just went through this problem with a friend. He bought a new battery and it went flat over night. He replaced the ignition switch (common problem), still went flat over night. Even though the alternator was charging great when the car was running, it was drawing current when the car was parked. We ended up getting a brand new alternator off ebay for $135., the dealer wanted $1900., local parts stores about $500.
The alternator was pretty easy to install and it solved the problem.

Find and remove the horn fuse or relay to keep the horn from blasting and attempt to start the vehicle. If it starts inspect the clearance between the horn switch and its ground contact. If there is a factory alarm, which I doubt, that has been reset by disconnecting the battery/battery going dead then call your local Porsche dealer for additional advice.
