2001 Corvette dies when I put it in gear and release the clutch

sounds light something is stuck in drive train, lift front of car into air (tires off ground, jack stands) put into neutral, turn each tire do they move freely? can u turn drive shafts?disconnect drive shaft from wheel so can u turn them in transmission? you are checking for frozen bearing or brake in wheel, bad u joints, and seized transmission eliminate from outside in towards transmission, check rear tires also is emergency brake stuck on and tires wont move. good luck

I wonder if maybe the kickstand switch is bad letting the bike think the kickstand is down. When you let out the clutch it shuts of the engine as if the kickstand is actually down.

I assume you have checked the kickstand switch disconect and see if still happens replace if needed.

The Clutch on some bikes will disengage the starter motor. Yamaha will not allow you to engage gear when the side stand is down. Hope this gives you some idea

you have a bad safety switch on the clutch/brake pedal
