I would take them off. Wait a minute or two. Then with the battery disconnected I turn on the headlights step on the brake turn the key on to try to drain any capacitors in the system. Getting a scanner or going to a parts store with a scanner may be an option for you?

SOURCE: after replacing the left front wheel bearing on a 2003 ford focus, the abs and traction warning light stay on

The bearings on the wheels has to be installed one way only, the rotor ring is built into the bearing and if installed the wrong way round the sensor cant pick up the wheel speed causing the ligt to be switched on in the cluster. The diagnostic equipment should pick this up as a fault once the car has been driven, it will see the sensor when you do the diagnostic if the car is standing still but once the car is moving and no signal is send from that wheel it would register a fault into the memory of the PCM that you would be able to retrieve later.
There is a way for you to test the sensor yourself by using a multimeter set on volts, you jack the vehicle up at that wheel, install a vehicle stand to support the vehicle to be safe, disconect the wheel speed sensor and probe the two wires into the sensor, spin the wheel by hand and a small amount of current will be produced meaning the the sensor is working and the wheel bearing is installed the correct way, you can also do a continuaty test on the sensor by switching the multimeter onto ohms, but be very carefull, if this sensor has three wires you cant do the continuaty test because of the integrated circuit in the sensor, the three wire sensors opperate on a voltage from 5Volt and it would be destroyed by the multimeter opperating on 9Volt.
If the continuaty test passes and the bearing is installed the correct way, the most comon fault would be a break in the wiring leading to the PCM
Hope this will be helpfull.

SOURCE: Can bad hub bearings make the abs and tc light to

Absolutely YES! The bearing and hub assembly contains the wheel speed sensor which is used by the Antilock Brake System (ABS) and the Traction Control (TC) system to see when a wheel is trying to lock up and cause skidding. The ABS will release the hydraulic pressure to the brake on that wheel and the traction control will reduce engine speed to prevent the wheel from locking up or causing you to spin out.
Many GM vehicles also commonly have problems with the wiring harnesses to the wheel speed sensors that can cause this same problem. The computer does not know WHY it cannot read the speed sensor signal. It only knows that it is not getting the signal and this is why the light is turned on. Before paying the BIG BUCKS for a wheel bearing and hub assembly, it would be wise to make absolutely certain that the problem is not being caused by a fault in the wiring harness. I have seen many mechanics automatically replace the wheel bearing only to find out that the problem still exists because they did not take the time to DIAGNOSE the problem. The fault code description says "Wheel Speed Sensor CIRCUIT fault." They see "speed sensor and automatically replace the sensor without actually checking the circuit. Not a problem unless you are the customer having to PAY for this type of guess-work!!!

There are wiring harness repair kits available for MOST GM vehicles just for this purpose.

I have included pictures of the bearing and hub assembly and the wiring harness kit to help you understand what we are talking about here.

Note the electrical connector sticking out of the hub assembly. This is the wires to the speed sensor. In the other picture, the connector at the end of the wiring harness is what plugs into the connector in the hub assembly. The other end of it gets spliced into the main vehicle harness in the engine compartment, after cutting the original harness out.

2006 equinox abs and tc lights coming on

Your abs light is more than likely caused by the hub assembly/wheel bearing sensor on the front wheels. I would take to autozone to see if they can do abs check.

it depends whats leaking i think it has nothing to do with the problem you have abs,tc,and hill this means its a brake problem , wheel bearing ,speed sensor on the wheels or diff, could also be a trans problem but to do something quick unplug battery for 10-15 mins restart car drive for a while does light come back on

My tc and abs light are coming on all the

Speedo and traction control; check wheel sensors all 4, clean and blow the sensors and reactor rings.
Is ABS light on as well? if so, you need a EBTCM module mounted to the brake ABS pump facing the battery. There are places in the US that rebuild them with warranty for under $150.

I have a 1997 Blazer. The ABS light comes on intermittently. When the ABS light is on the power windows and blower motor do not work. When the ABS light is off everything works just fine. Help????

That sounds strange about the power windows and the blower motor not working when the ABS light comes on. I happen to have a 99 Chevy blazer and I had the ABS light come on several times. There are ABS sensors on the two front wheel bearing hubs. If you take off the front wheels you will be able to see a black electrical cable that has 2 wires inside of it. This cable is coming directly from the ABS sensor on the wheel hub and is strapped to a bracket the is on the upper ball joint. From the hub it then goes to a plug connector that is under the protective flap that you lift to change your spark plugs. What I found that is a common problem is that wire tends to corrode or doesn't have enough slack in it when making turns and starts to pull and break. Examine that cable and if you see any breaks in it, that will cause the ABS light to come on. Also if you can get to the plug underneath the flap, unplug it and use a multimeter to see if you are getting any resistance on the two wires. If you aren't getting any resistance then your sensor is bad or you have a broken wire to the sensor. On my vehicle the ABS light kept on coming goin on and off intermitently and I found that wire from the sensor to the plug had a break in it. I stripped the wires back, spliced them together, soldered them and I used heat shrink tubing to cover the connections. The ABS light went out and it has been fine ever since. Hopefully this will solve your problem as well.

The TC light comes on and I Don't know what TC stands for?

traction control. you probably have an antilock brake light on too. they go hand in hand. maybe you have a bad wheel speed sensor it is very common on your car. mostly the front wheels. You have to change the whole wheel bearing hub assembly it is all one part with the speed sensor. Have the abs system scanned to see what the reason for the light.

Range Rover P38A 2.5 DSE 1999 - 4 way TC light keeps blinking!

i have had this a couple of times, when they have diff trouble etc i take them to a place covered in shingle on concrete. when i figure of eight them around so everything is working hard i can detect which diff or what ever is wrong.
now when u do this for a certain amount of time, (some differ) u have to understand what happens, when round a roundabout, the wheels closer to the roundabout are turning slower, outter wheels faster as they have further to travel, this abs traction control are programmed to see it.
when u figure of 8 it gets mixed up, i have had three now had them reset and bingo. I know your abs sensors are fine as light goes like u said. the most expensive bits are working.
also i would like to add, i changed a battery on 1, the owner claimed the same prob. u have to bear in mind she could be pulling a fast 1. anyway i had it reset at my own expense as could not reason with hear, it was cured.
so there is other things there somewhere that up sets it, if u keep on figuring 8 it this does.

When you brake and the van is near a complete stop the brakes let go a little then kick in hard. Sounds almost like when you start the vehicle and the ABS light goes out

As I already knew one of my rear wheel bearings was going, ie lots of noise above 60km, vehicle has 250K KMs, I read my service manual and it indicated most probable one of the bearings reading zero under 5 KM per hr causing full pressure by the ABS to be exerted on the rear brakes. Works fine with the ABS cct breaker pulled. Solid brakes with ABS above 5 km/hr. No ABS light on, do not have an ABS code reader only the basic GM code reader. Vehicle is 1992. Thanks Anyway
