The fuel pumps the fuel into the engine from the tank. If you can hear it running , then you need to hook up a pressure gauge to see how muck pressure you have. If you have enough pressure then check the injectors to see if they are getting current from the computer to inject the fuel to the cylinders.

The main relay on 1992 Accords are considered a dual relay. It controls both the ECU and the fuel pump in tandem.

I have a 94es300 i crank it it starts up runs 5 mins shuts off like not getting enough gas changed fuel pump, fuel filter , fuel pressure regulator and ignitor still same whats up with this car

If you changed the fuel pump and the fuel filter and ignitor and regulator,in the list of changes do you know you have a EFI. The EFI main relay turn on the fuel pump which includes the circuit opening relay. Testing it mainly passes with flying colors just replace

Just replaced the battery on 1995 honda prelude. Alternator checked out fine. 2 weeks later came out of work and the car would not start. Battery would not turn over. Could this be fuel pump relay? ...

The fuel pump relay has nothing to do with your engine cranking/turning over. If your battery is dead, you may have gotten a bad battery, it happens. It also depends on what type of battery you got. Walmart, Deka, and advance auto batteries have some problems. IF your battery checks good, it is most likely your starter, or wiring to starter. If your battery is dead, but recharges good, you have a drain issue, you left something on, or the alternator is not putting out enough amps. You may be getting proper voltage, but no amps.

Runs fine on at least 1/2 a tank of gas

sounds like the pickup tube may have fell off or not on properly or loose

Not getting power to fuel pump

You won't get any voltage to the fuel pump, until you "crank" the engine. It picks up a signal from the distributor which then talks to the ECM telling the car to turn the fuel pump on. The main relay is bad about going out on Honda's but they usually cool down and work, until you shut the car off. I'm leaning more towards a bad distributor.

there is no fuse, there's a relay for the fuel pump. IE,, "the main relay", under the drivers side dash.

1990 Honda Prelude won't start after I stop or konks out during

Sounds like it could be a Main Relay (with controls the fuel pump & others). Look it up - on the '92 models its under the dash near the steering column.

I changed the main fuel relay on my 1992 prelude because it would not start. the fuel pump does not come on at 2nd position of ignition for two seconds nor does the check engine light come on and go off....

Look for 'EFI Main Relay (PGM-FI Main Relay)' section about half-way down the following page: http://www.tegger.com/hondafaq/startproblems.html#mainrelay
