haynes are really brief, try speaking to a yamaha dealer, sometimes if you catch the on a good day they can send you a diagram they use, failing that you can purchase a manual on ebay normally, and failing alll that, work back bit for bit on all wiring with an electric meter

A test light checking each connector would be faster and easier to do. Maybe somebody may have a illustration for you but by far a simple test light is all you need with a helper turning on the different lights as you check them out and writing all your findings down

The honeywell THR830TUK thermostat does not require a neutral as shown in the instructions.Connect the LIVE to terminal "1" and your YELLOW SIGNAL wire to terminal "3".
Connect your EARTH (if you have one) to the EARTH connection on the top left hand corner of the thermostat and blank off your NEUTRAL wire with a block connector.These instructions were supplied to me by Honeywell Customer Support.Hope this helps.
