popohead, if people thought it was easy, they wouldn't be here asking. Your reply is useless.

To remove the pins, look a them closely. Notice that there's two little notches cut into the cup that holds the pin. Use a flathead on each side to leveredge them out a little. If that doesn't work at all, you can use a pair of pliers to firmly grip the head of the pin and pull straight out. Quick firm pull.

Once the first pin comes out, the second pin should easily come out. At that point, firmly grip your taillight housing, and pull straight back: Don't try to wiggle it out, and don't try to lift it to one side or the other like a trunk or door. Just pull it firmly straight back like you would a dresser drawer.

Once it's out, the little wiring harnesses come out of the taillight housing with about a 1/4 turn, and the bulbs just slide straight out of those.

Good luck!

Could be a big problem. Check switch first. If switch is fine check for oil pressure using a pressure gauge plugged into oil sender hole.

What causes the oil check light to show while there is enough oil

Low oil pressure.
Causes
1. Warn oil pump
2. Warn engine bearings
3. Wrong grade of engine oil
Could also be a bad oil pressure sender or electrical connector.
Remove oil pressure sender and and fit a manual gauge to check the true oil pressure.

2007 Cadillac srx oil pressure alarm, light going off, why?

If oil level is correct, you could install a mechanical oil pressure gauge to insure you actually have good oil presure. If all is well, change oil pressure sender unit.

Oil light comes on and is dinging.

The oil light has nothing to do will oil level, but rather oil PRESSURE. If the engine oil is full and there is no rattling or banging noises in the engine, chances are the oil pressure sending unit is bad. If noises accompany the light, then shut down the engine and troubleshooting the engines internal lubrication system.

Oil pressure

Remove the oil sender unit and fit a pressure gauge , start the engine and check pressure, seems odd the oil light and pressure gauge both showed a fault at the same time, perhaps the oil pump relief valve stuck open for a short time.

Up and down oil pressure gauge

Low oil level, dirty oil pump pickup screen. Bad sender. Senders are not that expensive to try, but attaching a real pressure gauge into the oil sender fitting would be the last external test you could do.

Hi can anyone point me in the right direction to find where the oil pressure switch is fitted on the Mk 5 golf Gti 2.litre petrol as would like to change the switch cos oil light intermittently comes on...

Hi Binny, The oil pressure sender unit should be close to the oi filter housing. If memory serves if should be in front of the engine (with you looking into the engine compartment from the front of the car. Regards John

No oil pressure registers in park, reverse, neutral, pressure reads 3 in drive, but is also intermittent. I think this is a loose connection.

It sounds like a bad connection ofr bad wire to the sender. When you put it in drive, the added torque will move the engine up slightly and the connection will be made and show at the guage. Trace from the pressure sender back and you should find your problem. If you're lucky, it could just be a loose connection right at the sender.
