      1. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
      1. If the cause is not visually evident, connect the diagnostic tool to the data link connector (DLC) and select the vehicle to be tested from the diagnostic tool menu. If the diagnostic tool does not communicate with the vehicle:
        • check that the program card is correctly installed.
        • check the connections to the vehicle.
        • check the ignition switch position.
      1. If the diagnostic tool still does not communicate with the vehicle, refer to the diagnostic tool operating manual.
      1. Carry out the diagnostic tool data link test. If the diagnostic tool responds with:
        • CAN circuit fault; all electronic control units no response/not equipped, refer to Section 418-00 .
        • No response/not equipped for the audio unit, Go To Pinpoint Test A .
        • NOTE: Do not press any buttons on the audio unit while the audio unit is carrying out the self-test.
System passed, retrieve and record the continuous diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), erase the continuous DTCs, and carry out self-test diagnostics for the audio unit.
      1. If the DTCs retrieved are related to the concern, go to Audio Unit Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index.
      1. If no DTCs related to the concern are retrieved, and the concern is not visually evident, proceed to the Speaker Walk-Around Test and the Audio Unit Self-Diagnostic Mode.

THX navigation system in 2007 Lincoln MKX

Could be mute controls for the telephone. The voice for the Navigation is adjusted separately from the radio volume. If any work was done on the vehicle, like a battery disconnect, then radio controls may need to be reset.

You need to toggle through the Menu to things like screen brightness for the Navigation.

You also have a speed sensitive radio and the volume controls could be affected by these settings.

How do i remove the factory stereo surround without breaking it - 2006 model accent?

All new cars are alike and use snaps and clips to hold everything together. Most likly you can remove the trim around the in dash radio unit with a thin metal tool. They have special tools at the car dealer for this. I know with the older model hyundai's there are two clips at the bottom of the front panel where the cigarette lighter thing is. Once you do find a way to remove the front panel there most likly are screws holding the radio unit in. I myself am about to remove my radio unit but I am just gonna stop in to my dealer and see what tool to use.

How can I get the code for the radio of a volovo 850?

The first step is to try and remove the radio to see if the code has been written on the casing. This is sometimes done with Volvo.

You will also need to provide the model number printed on the front of your stereo as Volvo branded units are often Clarion or another major brand that has been re-branded Volvo.

Marc
