Whenever the ignition is on and the PCM is energized, EEPROM self-tests are initiated. In addition to running internal controller self-tests, the controller area network (CAN) also compares signals from each individual module to ensure that each controller is functioning properly. These tests are performed simultaneously. If the PCM detects discrepancies in EEPROM functionality, a code P062F will be stored and a malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) may be illuminated. Additionally, if the PCM detects a problem between any of the on-board controllers, which would indicate an internal EEPROM error, a code P062F will be stored and a malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) may be illuminated. Multiple failure cycles may be necessary for MIL illumination, depending upon the perceived severity of the malfunction.
Causes for this P062F DTC code may include:
Defective controller or programming error, Overheated PCM, Water damage, A bad controller power relay or blown fuse, Open or shorted circuit or connectors in the CAN harness Insufficient control module ground Faulty EEPROM.

SOURCE: 601 code ..internal control module memory check

It means the PCM (computer) is toast. Replace it with one from a wrecking yard if available.

SOURCE: Internal Control Module Keep Alive Memory (KAM)

P0603 means Internal Control Module Keep Alive Memory (KAM) Error

In other words, that code is set when the PCM loses "keep alive" memory B+.

This code can also be set if the batteries went dead at some point, but mainly it means there is an open circuit detected in the KAM circuit.

On a '97 F-250, check for a 5 amp fuse blown in fuse cavity #2. If the fuse is blown, check for and repair the short-to-ground in circuit #729 (red with white coloured wire).

Good luck dear.

What does a PO62F EEPROM Error mean in a 2012 Impala LTZ mean?

DTC P062F: Control Module Long Term Memory Performance

Circuit/System Description
This diagnostic applies to internal microprocessor integrity conditions within the engine control module (ECM) and the throttle actuator control (TAC) system. This diagnostic also addresses if the ECM is not programmed.
The ECM monitors its ability to read and write to the memory. It also monitors a timing function. The ECM and the TAC processors are used to monitor the TAC system data. Both processors monitor the other processors data to verify that the indicated APP calculation is correct. The ECM performs an intrusive test in order to confirm that the APP signals are not shorted together. The ECM accomplishes this by pulling the APP sensor 2 low momentarily and looking for sensor 1 to also be pulled low.

P062F
The ECM did not complete the last electrically erasable programmable read only memory (EEPROM) write event during the last ECM power down. This diagnostic runs once per ignition cycle at power up.

Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop

2007 Chevy Malibu won't start, odometer reads error

The odometer will display 'error' if an internal IPC memory failure is detected or if there is a serial data communication fault between the ECM and the BCM. IPC instrument panel cluster .
Circuit Description
The communication among control modules is performed through the GMLAN high speed serial data circuit and the GMLAN low speed serial data circuit. The modules that need real time communication are attached to the high speed GMLAN network. The body control module (BCM) is the gateway between the networks. The purpose of the gateway is to translate serial data messages between the GMLAN high speed buss and the GMLAN low speed buss. The gateway will interact with each network according to that network's transmission protocol. Refer to Body Control System Description and Operation for more information about the gateway.
Your best bet is to take your vehicle to the dealer , sorry !

Gas gauge dose not work on 2007 chev malibu

That 2007 may be part of the BCM issue do a search see it it has that recall if so that may be the problem. The BCM controls alot of the electronics including dash cluster. We traded our 2011 malibu because the dealer didnt have the parts yet and the BCM was causing the car to start intermittently and the dash cluster needles to jump around.
