The correct location of the PCV for the 2000 Ford 4.0 SOHC v6 engine is the rear of the engine on the passenger side. You can pin point it by following 2 hoses, one on each side, that go from the air intake manifold to the same point..the PCV valve. The driver side hose is routed from the PCV around the back and comes up by the coil pack and toward the middle of the manifold (the connector faces rearward). The passenger side hose not as long and also connects to the plastic intake manifold.
The hoses converge on the PCV with a plastic T.The arms of the T are connected to the 2 hoses and the bottom of the T fits over the PCV.There are no fasteners for the hoses or T, but will be difficult to remove either the tubes or the PCV from the T. Pull straight up and be cautious of the PCV nipple because it cracks real easy, the T is made up of hard plastic but take care to grab both sides of the T when pulling up. Once you have freed the PC V of the hoses (T) you will need a light to see the fastener that holds not only the rubber tube that holds the PCV but traps the PCV valve also so you can't just separate it from the tube. The fastener that wraps and holds the tube and PCV valve is a ratcheting type connector. Towards the firewall side of the fastener, you will feel a loose piece of the fastener on the outer part of the connector.Pull this towards the passenger side (towards you) and with a small screwdriver or pick, unlock the teeth that are meshed together. You can either do this on the end where the loose plastic piece stops or on the other side of the clip. You are just separating the ratcheting strip from each other.Once you successfully removed this clip (congratulations), you can begin to try to remove the PCV from the tube.I tried twisting and rolling the plastic down the valve with no luck. What I did find that worked was forcing (massaging) the PCV valve out of the tube by pushing up from the bottom of the valve, while it was in the tube and pulling from the top at the same time. Now one thing to note, this part has been discontinued and the replacement is metal, about a dollar, but you will have to modify the replacement by grinding any steps in the valve nipple. The hard plastic T does not expand to fit a barbed end and that's what the replacements have. You might be able to replace the T with a more suitable rubber one but I haven't done that...yet.Now to see if the modified PCV valve will fit on the T.
Hopes this helps.Hit helpful if you would so I get notified. Thanks, Bill

I have a 98 4L SOHC . The valve seems to be behind the intake manifold. The emissions diagram shows 2 hoses going to it. Local dealership swears Part #EV225 is correct. You would not believe how much of the internet is devoted to this situation

the pcv is located on the rear(firewall) of the drivers side valve cover.turn counterclockwise and pull to remove be careful there are 2 small tabs inside the pcv hole in the valve cover(can feel with small finger) this is to hold valve in place so it wont leak.if you have a oil leak at the pcv a quick fix is to put a small amount of silicone around the pcv o-ring and install.wait hours for silicone to set up.

SOURCE: how do i replace the pcv valve on a 2000 explorer xlt v6 sohc?

On the passenger side of the intake manifold, coming off the bottom about the center of the engine front to back, you'll feel a hose that comes off a nipple. That hose makes a 90 degree bend and goes around to the rear of the motor. Where that hose meets the Y-connector from the other side of the intake you'll find the PCV valve. It's almost impossible to see it with the hood installed, and even tougher to reach it.

It is located at the back of the engine near the fire wall. It is gray with a T connector at the top with two hoses coming off of the T and going forward into the intake manifold.

2002 4.6l v8 ford explorer limited edition pcv valve location

so the pcv valve is on the driver's side of the engine master cylinder this is the back firewall. and if you look real close you can see it it's that little blue piece of plastic. that is the actual pcv valve so from the front of the engine you want to bring your arm.

Where is the pcv valve at the engine ford explorer sport 99

PCV Basics
PCV stands for Positive Crankcase Ventilation.
All car engines have a PCV valve and it is located on top of the motor's valve cover. There is a vacuum line attached to it. It pulls out of the valve cover and if you shake it, you should hear a marble knocking inside it. If you shake it and don't hear anything, it's bad. It costs less than 5 bucks to replace.

Location
* 4.0L is located in the valve cover near the brake booster
* 5.0L is located behind the intake manifold (engine rear)

NOTE-Most people that are asking actually want to know not only where is it but also how do you get at it to replace it.

Often answers say that you need to dismantle the intake manifold to get to it.
This is a major and unnecessary approach, for example, on the 2000 Explorer with a 5.0 V8

Below is an additional suggestion on how to access a PCV valve on an 2000 5.0 V8 Explorer

The PCV valve is on the rear of the intake manifold (the intake manifold is also on top of the crankcase so PCV valve has direct access to crankcase)

To replace valve and/or its bushing:
  • Disconnect one battery terminal, unbolt/unplug the PCM cable (Powertrain Control Module connector located on the firewall) and firewall ground connection, depress underneath tab and slide the main cable connector (located to the right of PCM connector) off its mount.
  • Move the cables to the right and now you can easily reach down behind the intake manifold to the PCV valve
  • Service valve and its bushing if needed, reverse actions to reassemble
Hope this helped (remember comment and rated this). Good luck.

Where is the pcv valve located on a 1999 ford explorer? Is there a picture?

What throws everybody is that the pcv valve does not insert into the valve cover as it does most cars. This one on the 1999 explorer is located directly behind or in back of the engine on the top of the manifold. You can spot this easier if you take off the covering(four screws) on manifold then you will see two hoses that connect to a plastic pcv valve (that's what threw me). this should help.

Need location

The PCV valve for a 5.0L is located below the upper intake manifold in the rear. It is locate in the lower intake manifold in the rear right below the upper intake manifold. It is really hard to see but if you get a mirror you can probably see it.
