SOURCE: 1994 ranger. 2.3 engine. 8plug model. Dead miss in

According to Gates ( they manufacture timing belts ) the 2.3 L engine in a 1994

Ford Ranger is NOT an interference engine, so the valves would not make contact with the piston.

If you have good spark and compression then replace or service your fuel injector for that cylinder.

A red neck repair is to tap on a long extension touching the fuel injector while the engine is running. It may free up whatever is clogging it....If the injector still functions. Go easy on the cheap plastic that the injector is made of. also check for a good signal to the injector, and look for any corrosion on the plug.

98 ford ranger supercab xlt 2.5 spark plug wiring diagram

I will read the SM service manual to you now.
firing order 1,3,4,2
most cars with old coil packs 4 cylinders is just one pack
not coils but yes 2 coils in 1 pack run 4 cylinders, using wasted spark tech.
oops this old dog run 8 spark plugs now that is different.
and here it is from the book
we do know 1 and 4 fire as one and 3 and 2 first as one pair too.
I sure hope the 2 coils fire, the same way.
no lag. coil 1 spark 1, to coil 2 spark 1. hummmmm
yes tricky see these sage words. from the SM

Dual Plug Inhibit (DPI) is a function of the powertrain control module that is used when the vehicle is being started. During engine cranking, the powertrain control module will only fire the spark plugs on the right-hand side of the engine.Whenthe engine has started, the powertrain control module will start normal twin-plug operation.

I need a picture of a1993 Ford ranger coil pack to engine sprk plug seqence

GO TO ROCKAUTO.COM
SEE your car , year and what engine is that is there (not told u)
see ignition coil packs
see many makers
see some come marked, like NGK does and others
this tech is called WASTED spark, 2 spark plugs per coil.

1993 service manuals are rare, no digital manuals then
books then
and hand scanning 500page is mostly never done.
or buy the book used on EBAY, best of the best there by FORD.

Im working on a ford ranger 2002 with the v6. i just need to see a pic of the piston order and the coil pack order. im getting codes for 4..5..6 missfire but im not sure witch ones they are

Cylinders 1,2 and 3 are the cylinders on the passenger side and cylinders 4,5 and 6 are the cylinders on the driver's side. They are numbered front to rear. The coil pack will have the cylinder numbers marked on the top of it. The actual firing order is 1-4-2-5-3-6
The top of your coil should look like this:
1 2 3
5 6 4

Your engine looks like this:
1 2 3
FRONT OF ENGINE
4 5 6

1994 ranger. 2.3 engine. 8plug model. Dead miss in number 2 cylinder. Changed the plugs, wires and coil pack. Still a dead miss. If the person I got the truck from broke the timing belt while the engine...

that engine is a non-interference engine, so it should not have been damaged when the timing belt failed-I'd check the injector and see if it has good compression in the cylinder, and if it is low, squirt oul in the cylinder and test again-if it picks up alot of compression after doing this, you have a bad/broken compression ring, if it does not pick up, it is a valve,

My truck is missing on the forth and fifth

things that can cause it to miss.
fouled plug (checked)
bad wires(checked)
coil pack(checked)
ignition signal to coil pack( switch old coil pack to a working cylinder to make sure its good and you may find a possible short in the wiring to the coil pack) alternately check the voltage to the wires going to the coils make sure like colors have like voltages. im not too big into ford trucks but thats a good start for most vehicles
possibly injector stuck open and flooding cylinders
timing could be off
