Hi, I,m assuming yours is an E36 model, in which case the main fuse box is under the bonnet , facing the car at the front the fuse box should be situated on the right hand side close to the bulkhead, ( black plastic cover over fuses )
Any muffler shop can fix this. You probably damaged the heat shield. The blinker is sticking so I suggest you change the flasher relay & is found on the stearing coluum & is usually covered by the stearing shroud. Put the flasher on & listen for the clicking. This will help you locate it. Hope this helps. Good luck!
Look under the hood, there should be a black plastic box about 6 to 8 inches square, or something along that size. The top cover should say something about fuses or relays. Just take that cover off and there should be a diagram of the fuse layout stuck on the inside of the cover.
Normally there is a rod down the steering column which has a lever in the engine compartment. The lever hooks to other rods that move the transmission's gear shift, which in turn in the inside hooks up to another lever which pushes the valve assemly to the right position so the the fluid moves through this valve assembly thus causing P R N D L In some cases there are 2 D's One is filled in in white. At least that is how I remember it, but will look at the manual tonight.
