Bmw e39 528i auto 1996 jatco box come up code 10 on the launch diagnosis machine speed sensor,turbo charge.which speed sensor the car does not come with a turbo .problem change from 3rd to 4th/5th

Hi, it might be worth getting your gear selector checked as these have a nylon/plastic ball at the bottom now if this has worn down then when you try selecting a gear it will cause the problem your having.(its under neath the gearstick before it links to the two selector rods so check this.)

Also worth checking alot of cars where the two rods come from the selector and then their is two rods going to the gear box one of these is fixed and cant be adjusted but the other rod can be adjusted and its often the case that this adjustment can take up the play and solve your problem.
The problem with this is that it can be adjusted forwards and backwards it slides when you undo the bolt that goes through it so make sure you can mark exactly where the selector is where you can adjust it so that you can set it back their if it makes it worse or no differance.
If yours can be adjusted then make sure you mark where it is now then just move it a small bit at a time one way and then give it a try if no differance then move it a bit more if it gets worse then put it back where it was originally then try going the other way see if it makes any differance if not then it wont be adjustment problem.
If neither of these are problem then the chances are the gears have stripped and this would give you the problem your having as the faster you go the harder it is for the teeth to locate on the correct gear in the box.

As for stripping the box it isnt really worth doing as the parts would be expensive and would cost as much as a second hand gear box.
The best option would be a reconditioned gear box as you know that it has be rebuilt with any new parts needed and you should also get some warranty on it which is always a bonus.

Are you sure the clutch is ok test this by having the car running and at a standstill with the hand brake on put car into 2nd gear and with the handbrake on gently let the clutch up slowly and see if it feels like its slipping if the clutch is ok then the car will stall this is what will happen if the clutch is ok.

have you checked the fluid level? ther could be several reasons. #1 low fluid level.#2 engine speed sensor.# transmission control module.#4 the solenoids in transmission gummed up or malfuntioning. have these checked out

if you changed the asc module, the module has to be programmed/coded after replacement. If it was a new part there should be no problem programming the new control unit. I would recommend taking the vehicle to the dealership to allow them to program the control unit.If you have access to the programming don't forget to take the asc module out of "end of belt line mode" and most likely the steering angle sensor will have to be aligned

Doesn't sound like a simple fix. I would suggest having it serviced.

no hydralic fluid in the resvoir look for the resvoir on the fire wall of the drivers side if its empty well fill it back up lol not sure if the sw1 has this but ive had too fix this problem before

that is the sensor that reads the speed of the turbine in the torque converter

Location turbine sensor 2001 sportage and symptoms

hello per my dealing with the problem your having I suggest you take it into your Kia dealer have a Dealer Diagnosis run,, the electronics can be very tricky.. no local auto parts can solve that ..its a very expensive part to have to replace, if it ruins the turbo.. this is my best advice although I had to replace one once.. I found a real reputable turbo rebuilder and exchanged mine at half of the price a dealership will charge.. and you can utilize the repair at a local garage if yours becomes necessary to replace in the future.. as for the speed sensor it has to be top quality parts not aftermarket I have seen money wasted on those .just my dealings with kia tubro's or Toyota's also ,Best of Luck.. Have replaced ABS module on bmw 525 E39 and ABS now ok, but the ASC lamp will not go off on the dash and fault code 23 (incorrect coding) will not clear from system? Everyone told us the ABS ecu does not...

ABS/ASC module is faulty
CLASSIC ABS FAILURE SYMPTOMS:
- Most of the time, the problem is the ABS module or one of the 4 wheel speed sensors (& sometimes the brake pressure sensor)
- In my 2002 BMW E39 DSC, three orange (warning) cluster display lights lit, ABS, Brake, & DSC
- The 3 warning lights reset when the ignition is turned off, only to repeatedly reappear within minutes of normal driving
- The fault is often intermittent leading you to falsely believe you've resolved the problem (proper diagnosis is important)
- Sometimes the fault only appears when the engine is hot; other times only at speeds over 40 mph
- Carsoft may erroneously show a rear speed sensor failure; but just replacing the speed sensor may make no difference.
- All the work is in correct diagnosis of the problem; parts replacement is trivial (from 1 to six bolts in a few minutes)
- Hence, this BMW E39 ABS 3-warning light DIY will concentrate on understanding and diagnosis of the problem

Dodge 3500 diesel trouble codes

the code is for low turbo boost which may have been caused by the snow.if you arent detecting any power problems try unhooking the batteries for about 10 min to clear the codes or take it to like and auto zone or advanced auto and have them clear the codes. if the light comes back on you may need to take it to the dealer because it may have a bad turbo ..a bad sensor ...or and air leak in the charge air system
