Which engine ??
The 6.6 is a diesel, the 6.0 and 8.1 engines are gas.
The gas engines use a pump in the tank, I think the diesel uses one in the tank and another on the frame.
Hello and welcome. you will have to perform the bleed procedure using the fuel prime on the fuel filter housing. there is a pump on top of the fuel filter assembly, on the passenger side of engine.
Open the vent valve screw (1) by turning the screw counterclockwise several full turns.
Operate the priming pump (1) by repeatedly pumping until a small amount of fuel seeps from the vent valve. Allow the pump to fully return upward between pumps. When fuel is present, the filter is full of fuel and the system is primed.
Close the vent valve screw.
mcdevito75 here, The fuel pump should be in the gas tank. Change the fiel filter before condming the fuel pump. You may also have to drain a little water out of the gas tank. Your local repair shop can check this out.
try priming the fuel filter, ther is a pump and bleed scew above the filter, pump a few times hold the pump down open screw and se what comes out air or diesel? keep doing this until its diesel
whens the last time you changed the fuel filter? ther maybe to much water in the filter and the tank, on warmer days the fuel maybe trying to seprate in the filter, when you go to start it you maybe trying to run it on water more then diesel. add a cetien booster to the tank of fuel you have see if that helps
Evap vent solenoide is stuck closed. Start by replacing the valve and checking the hose to the valve for clogs...this is located between the cab of the truck and the bed of the truck on the driver side (can be seen if you look down through the crack)....If this doesn't work then check the fuel filler neck hose for kink or restriction this is the hose that goes from the gas cap to the fuel tank.
primay fuel pump is defective and won't allow the secondary pump to build pressure and causes it to die and has lack of power, most likely it started getting gutless before it happened.
