Check the starter relay in the under hood fuse box. Do you know how to test where the relay plugs into the fuse/relay box . Watch this youtube video .

SOURCE: High pitch noise when turn key to start / engine not turning over

Check your battery first. Cold weather does horrible things to car batteries... if it's more of a grinding sound I would say that your starter gear is bad. I believe they call it a ring gear? I had a similar problem with a kushman scooter that I use to deliver snowcones through the neighborhoods. It has teeth that need to engage and if those teeth have been grinded down it will have a hard time engaging....

SOURCE: Clicking sound from gray box to side of glove box. Check engine light on.

sounds like the dampener gear shaft is trying to either open or close the vent and clicks b/c its stripped... turn the climate contol to the middle and turn it off...see what happens play with the controls back and forth from h ot to cold high to low and see if it gets worse or stopps or makes any diff at all if thats it, you can take out glovebox removes some screws/bolts and remove the gear or pull the lil plastic shaft out , however it will effect the the performace of the heater/cooling system. I would recomend taking it to a dealer/local yokal if you notice a change so that way you can still use it...let me know what you find

My 01 deville makes a funny sound under the dash like a clicking noise untill the back air ride stabilizes is that the air pump going bad?????

I have a 2000 deville dts that was doing
the same thing. The problem was the mode door actuator located behind and to the left of the glove box. There is only one there and it is about a 3"x5" black box. Disconnect the electrical connector, two 5.5 mm screws, a little wiggling and pulling straight out, and it's out.

I have a 95 Dodge neon that started making a noise like a baseball card in a bike spoke yesterday. I know my brakes are good probably at least at 50% and it only happens whan I"m applying the brakes....

does the noise come from the front? could be a warped rotor. when you step on the brakes a warped rotor causes the pads to rattle because its not flat any longer.turning the rotors will fix this. hope this helps

Engine won't turn over. Wait a few seconds then starts fine. Of course, this is not all the time. Battery checks out ok. No codes on computer. But I have now noticed some noises coming from behind glove...

I am not sure as to why there would be noises coming out from behind your glove box, But i would suspect a lose wire. more than likely on the starter itself. I would trace the red or :hot" wire down from the batter to the starter and check them to make sure that they are all tight, also inspect them to be sure that there are no bare spots that might be touching the metal of the motor or frame.

My jeep makes a sound from the rear for example today backed out of a parking spot and a loud clicking kinda like if u put a baseball card in the spoke of a bike only louder

Check the back brakes . I believe you have drum brakes in the back. The brake hardware. ie..Springs, clips.. come apart sometimes. And this will cause the clicking noise you hear

The heater in my 2000 chevy malibu is making funny noises ... speeds one and two dont work.. havent since we bought the car... for 2 years now.. but what is that sudden noise that came on yesterday... like...

I have ran into the same problem, there may be something has got into fan cage. remove fan motor and investagate to see if it is blocked, or if fan is going bad. it is behind glove box, to remove. remove lower right dash insulator panel from under glove box. slide bcm aside for room to get at fan motor. remove 3 screws from fan motor, and remove fan after disconnecting wiring. the blower motor resistor is beside fan motor. the resistor will make ya lose 1 and 2 speeds. for it is a 5 step resistor.
