I bought a 1999 Ml430 Mercedes and the previous owner disconnected the battery and does not have the code to reset the radio.

When I bought the car I did not realize that the radio had an anti-theft code. I did not get the owners manual from the owner so I do not have the radio code.

You can call Mercedes, any dealership and ask. They'll want the serial number on the radio, or the car Vin, or the title number. Just proof of ownership. They can give you the factory reset code.

if you have access to a fax or e-mail some dealers will allow copy of ownership and photo id to be authorized to get code ---notify and see it they will do it that way

If you are unable to find the owners manual packet with the radio code card inside, you can submit that information(VIN) to any Mercedes dealer with proof of ownership and they will be able to tell you the code.

When you disconnect your battery and then reconnect it again, it disables the radio. This is an anti-theft protection for your car radio.
The enable your radio the activation code is in your vehicle owner's manual. If you do not have this code you need to go to your Mercedes service centre and get them to enter this code for you.

How to reset the stero in a mercedes

I assume you have the radio code that came with the car????Disconect the battery cable and reconnect,that should reset the radio where you can enter the code.You will also have to reset the windows by holding down thw window switches once the reach the lowest and highest travel.the face plate on the radio should say code to be able to enter the code.

I don't know if you trying to take the radio out or just want the radio to reset so you can puch in the code. to take the radio out you'll need special tools, to reset the radio you may have to disconnect the battery and wait 5 minutes and reconnect. Good luck ...........

You will have to call a Mercedes service center and give them your VIN number. It may be in their computer system.

take it to mercedes to be honest it will require re programming on their computer with the four figure code they will have but will not give it out so you could do it with a mobile call out man

Radio won't turn on asking for a code

Hello! When you purchased your Mercedes a card (similar to a bank card), which has the radio code stamped on, should have accompanied your owners manual. If not visit your dealership and they can give you the code. Turn on the radio, punch in the code, and radio will come on. Any time your battery is disconnected, when you power back up the radio code must be re-entered.

E55 radio code

If you typed the number in wrong more than twice it may be locked and won't take the number even when it's correct. You need to disconnect the battery again for more than 5 minutes and try again. If you typed it in correctly, the card might be from a previous radio (if you're not the original owner) or if it is the original radio, a mechanic may have swapped the card with another car by mistake. Either way, it's a trip to the dealer.
