2010 BMW 3 Series 328i Sedan. Hardtop - raising and lowering.

There are lot of videos in this link. Opening and closing an electric or hydraulic hardtop is always going to be difficult because they are so heavy. I had a friend with and Xi5 and he had the soft top / hard top option and he had pulleys and a winch to lower the hardtop because it was only just manageable for 2 people to lift.

The best plan is to get it fixed for automatic operation.

How to replace the brake light bulb in 2010 Chrysler Sebring retractable hardtop

Open the trunk, remove the plastic jamb cover and then the interior cover from the inside of whichever side you want to remove, the remove the plastic wing nuts, and the tail lamp assembly should pop right out allowing you access to the bulb housings which twist lock in to the back of the housing. Hope that helped!

Porsche Boxster S 986 persistent squeak behind my head.

My 986 does the same thing. I realized that opening the door made the squeaking stop. Assuming it was cause by the the door rubbing against the jam, I tried to quiet it using tape (as a buffer) , silicone spray, grease, etc. Sorry to say, no luck yet. I'm thinking of just removing the door. Well, actually both doors to keep it symmetrical. Let me know if your squeak is caused by the same thing and if you find a solution which is better than mine.

How do i get my brake caliper to quit sticking and retract properly? I can hear my brake pad rubbing the rotor when I drive and no brake are applied.

If you can hear a squeak from the brake it is an indicator attached to the brake pad to let you know it is time to change pads. If it is not releasing you will generally have a pull to that side when driving. Disc brakes do not move away from the rotor as drum brakes do from the drum. They only apply pressure to the rotor or release pressure but stay in contact with it. The squeak is designed to keep you from running the brakes down to where the rotor would be damaged.

MX5 HARDTOP SQUEEKING

Try using a thicker lubricant...The stickiest is chain & bar oil for chainsaws. Not good for internal stuff like engines or gearsets but really good on external parts.(locks, hinges etc) I keep a hypodeemic nerdle full of it in my tool box!!! (use it on firearms and fishing reels too!!!)
